  • Running from the Heart of God - Part of the "Jonah - Running From the Heart of God" series.

Have you ever been confronted about how different you are from God? Have you ever been angry with Him? Today, Pastor Ben concludes his series in the book of “Jonah” with a message entitled “Running from the Heart of God.” In it, he’ll not only show how God is bringing a message the city of Nineveh, but He’s bringing the same message to His prophet Jonah. It’s a message for many of us, the ones who are running away from God.

  • Refinement in Confinement - Part of the "Jonah - Running From the Heart of God" series.

We don’t want to waste anything. Isn’t that an interesting way to look at life, especially when life isn’t going as we expected? In today’s fourth message from his Jonah series, Pastor Ben looks at how God uses difficult situations in our lives to make us more like Jesus. He calls his message, “Refinement in Confinement.” If you’re feeling a bit confined these days, this is a great word for you!

  • 2200726 - The Race of Faith
Over the last five months, all of our lives have been changed in one way or another. Many familiar things have been stripped away and there is seemingly no end to the increase of voices that lobby for our daily attention. It’s easy to get distracted, especially in today’s world. However, the people of God must stay focused on what God has said and what God is doing or we will quickly become discouraged.
The writer of Hebrews wrote to a discouraged and distracted group that longed to go back to what was familiar rather than press on to what they were called to in Christ. While many things change there are those things that do not change, and our passage today reminds us of who we are, who God is, and how we can position ourselves to remain faithful to what matters the most. We must remember that when we surrendered to Jesus we entered a marathon that will require a certain mindset, specific training, and a constant focus with Jesus as our greatest example.

  • 20200823 - A New Path for a New Place - Jeremiah 29:1-14
I don’t think anyone could have prepared for all that we are facing in our world today; with a worldwide pandemic, economic shutdown, travel bans, civil rights outcry, skyrocketing unemployment rates, school shutdowns, and so much more. Did I mention that all of this just happens to be going on during one of the most hostile and divided election years that we have ever known? I think it’s safe to say that many people just want all of this to be over so we can go back to whatever normal we used to have. Something that we must consider is that this season could potentially change the landscape of our lives, our country, and our world as we know it.  Does that mean that God is not in control? Not at all. In fact, God knows exactly what He is doing in every season of every generation and He is constantly inviting His people to join what He is doing right where they are.  With that said, I believe that we need a bit of guidance for the new season that we are in rather than wait for things to go back to normal. In our passage today, Jeremiah chapter 29, we read an account of how God instructed His people during a time where literally everything had changed for them. Through a prophetic message, God told His people how they were to occupy their current reality for the next 70 years as they trusted that God would still work for their good and His purpose.
