WHY HIS MERCY?
Wednesday 23rd November 2022.
2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
There are many vessels but the vessel you become is determined by your choice.
2 Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, [and] prepared unto every good work.
You have got to rid yourself of compromise and your own standards, then embrace the standards of the Spirit to become the vessel of nobel use.
Many believers have misinterpreted the goodness of God, taken it for granted, and involved themselves in all kinds of vices saying God will absolve. Yes, He will forgive but church for how long shall we live in such ?
Enough is enough, let us break off the sense of compromise, and familiarity. It is time to walk the high way of truth, purity, and holiness so that the Spirit of God can find the rightful vessels.
Micah 2:10 " Arise and depart, For this [is] not [your] rest; Because it is defiled, it shall destroy, Yes, with utter destruction.
The Lord has been speaking to us about mercy and grace, His mercy should not leave us the same.
Mercy and grace we receive grant us His strength, ability, help, and possibilities that enable me and you to walk away from anything that is not of God. It transforms, lifts, and brings you to His standard.
Romans 2:4 NLT Don't you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
God embraces us with mercy so that we may turn away from our sins.
Yes, there is no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus but God does not approve a life that does not honor him.
Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
The proof that the grace and mercy of God is at work in your life and have been allowed on your life is when sin has been broken off your life.
The grace people talk about that permits you to continue in sin is not the grace or Mercy of God
Daniel 4:27 Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by [being] righteous, and your iniquities by showing mercy to [the] poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity."
Daniel told these words to Nebuchadnezzar when he was still in his mind, he was still a king of an entire kingdom, he was a man of great influence, and his words were final but he did not heed the voice of God.
Daniel 4:29-31 At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon. The king spoke, saying, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?" While the word [was still] in the king's mouth, a voice fell from heaven: "King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you!
One day as he was walking in the compound, as usual, he began to brag and he was turned into an animal for seven years.
Why should you wait to become something else?
Why should you wait to go through those experiences when the word has come to you with the ability to help you?
Daniel 4:34 And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom [is] from generation to generation.
Do you know what it means to lift up the eyes? To look up to him and when he did so, his senses returned.
When his mind came back, he worshipped the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob and he was restored.
You do not need to go through the same experience, obey now.
As you continue calling on God, embrace the mercies of God and allow the Holy Spirit to be who He ought to be in your l
