“For he (God) chose us in Christ before the world began to be holy and blameless in his sight. As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received.” Eph 1:4; 4:1.

God has a calling on your life. Jesus calls you to follow him. The challenge for every Christian is to walk or live worthy of his calling. God has a general call to salvation and a specific call for every person. Make your calling and election sure! In this inspiring message from Pastor Cooper he answers the question, “How can we walk worthy?”

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:8

Jesus not only gave us his demands of discipleship – deny yourself, take up cross daily and follow me – he gave his dynamic power. “I will ask the Father and he will give you another Counselor, the Holy Spirit…” (John 14:16-17). The word Counselor or Comforter is paraklete in Greek meaning one called alongside to help. Pastor Cooper concludes the four part series “Empowered” with the powerful message on “When the Holy Spirit Comes”.

Jesus gave one purpose of the infilling of the Spirit at Pentecost – power. It doesn’t make you more saved. You’re either saved or you’re not. It doesn’t make you a super Christian or a perfect person. The word for power is dunamis and means ability, might and strength. Dr. Cooper brings an inspiring message on the power of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.

In this powerful message, Dr. Cooper teaches us the truth from God’s word about being filled with the Holy Spirit.

There is no way to talk about the Christian life without talking about the Holy Spirit. Every Christian has the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13). But Paul tells Christians to be filled with the Spirit or literally, continually be filled. If we were already filled why does he tell us to be filled?

Who is the Holy Spirit? What does he do in our lives? Why do we need to depend on the Holy Spirit? Only the Holy Spirit can give us the spiritual power we need to live victoriously and to minister effectively to others.
