I want you to know that Satan-s attacks are first to prevent sinners from hearing the Gospel message and then against Christians to cause discouragement, bitterness, sadness, that you feel defeated, and causing you to feel depressed. Any of you ever experience any of that- I want you to be aware of the fact that as a Christian Satan cannot steal your soul from the arms of God. This however it will not prevent him from doing his best to make you as a believer ineffective. He wants because of his desire to be worshiped to replace God in your life with himself this he does by causing you to believe his lies. --Think about this when you become angry or bitter and begin complaining do you think that Satan might be able to use these things coming out of you to begin to tear down your testimony. Yes know that Satan will attempt to discredit you. Will you recognize the fact that if you are discouraged how likely are to shear the gospel message- If you are harboring bitterness how likely are to share the gospel message- If you are feeling defeated or depressed I would guess it is highly unlikely you will be sharing the gospel message. What I want us to see today is that Satan will attack a believer-s foundation in Christ in an attempt to cause them to be ineffective. If you are not sharing the gospel message then understand that Satan is preventing some sinner who needs to hear the gospel message from hearing it while preventing you from sharing it.

Overview: We have been examining the facts of our facing suffering, trials and persecution. Monday I began to prepare this message by Tuesday afternoon it was living before me. I found myself in a situation I had not expected to be in. I stood before a friend holding a knife saying I don-t want to talk to you. I am going to take care of this once and for all he replied. Then I saw the knife He held in his hand. He gave me his cell phone and walked away. I presume you can guess what his intentions were. The young man when I would get close enough talk to him would turn and say I don-t want to hear about God. God he said is no better than Satan. He said in fact I have found more peace with Satan than with God. With God all I have is suffering and pain. How is it that the God you believe in could allow all the things to happen that he does- He would tell me I know he allows bad things to happen it is not all Satan he said. This is why he said I hate God I don-t ever want to be with Him. Besides I don-t think he wants anything to do with me. How often you hear this from someone- For someone who said he did not want to hear about God I found our entire conversation was about God. I told him I you say you don-t want to talk about God and that is ok I we don-t have to talk about God but that is all you have been talking about. Preparing for this message may have helped me to get through to this young man. I know that this encounter also played a part in this message. Have you ever considered Satan has a strategy a battle plan- Can you understand that Satan has a plan to attack you, and if you fall into the trap as far in as this young man was you have likely missed

Overview: We again are looking at suffering as a Christian. Ever known anyone who chose to follow Christ under the false presence that it would provide them an easier life on earth- Well the truth be known for a new Christian or even a growing Christian the more you draw nearer unto Christ the more likely a target you become for Satan-s fiery darts. Satan does not want to lose his hold. Satan could care less what you believe as long as it is not truth, oh he will help you to believe a half truth, and if you get too much in the way experiencing the whole Satan doesn-t even care if you die, even if you die and go to heaven you-re out of his way. If you die and go to hell you-re out of his way. It is those who live that the word of God is able to impact or who can impact someone else that Satan is concerned about. So as you become a believer or as you grow in the faith you may face more suffering than you did before and Satan wants you to recognize this weather it is true or not. Why- Because it is Satan-s idea that you might lose sight of the glory found in Christ. So now we will look at 1 Peter where will see that weather you are a believer on non- believer there will be suffering but in the scripture we will see that the difference between the two is how we suffer.

Overview: In this world we long for peace. As followers of Christ we can have peace and comfort knowing that there is a better day awaiting. So we have looked at many different ways as well as reasons why we as Christians face suffering, trials and persecution. These attacks from Satan in an attempt that we might flee form the presence of God. Even tempting us with fiery darts aimed at the flesh that we would fall victim to the fleshly nature and might count ourselves as lost unto God. Peter said expect these things to come at you strong as you serve Christ. In James we are told to count it all joy know that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect. At least as perfect as you will be here on earth or maybe this was for our perfection to come in our resurrected body. Jesus told us that we should remember that if the world hates us as Christians that it is because of Him Jesus Christ whom they hated first. Paul told us that the temptations on this earth were strong as he would find himself not doing that which he knew he ought to do that which was good, and rather would find himself doing the very thing that the Holy Spirit which dwelt in him had taught him to hate. Can you relate to this- What hope do you have- Is there comfort and peace to be found- How shall we obtain it if it truly does exist-

Overview: What do you think of when you hear mention of the mark of the beast- Likely your first thought may be the number 666. This is reviled to us in Revelation 13-18 -18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast- for it is the number of a man- and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.- 666 is the number of the beast but what is that mark of the beast- Can you see the mark- Is it only revealed in ones actions and dedication to Satan- How do you get it- When will this take place- As time has passed and technology has abounded there have been countless claims as to just what the mark of the beast was. There have been those who said it was worshiping on Sunday instead of Saturday, it was said to be the bar code which is on just about every product you buy. It has been said to be the Dollar, the Euro. Some have said it is tattoos. More recently it is being said to be a tiny microchip the size of a grain of rice that can be implanted under the skin and work like your cell phone or some credit cards to allow you to pay for items. Something like this has so many other capabilities that you twenty years ago would have never thought possible. For example a device like this which does exist now could be sold to the public on its conveyance and security factor. What many don-t know is that it could be exploited to do so much more. A device like this would make the cell phone data collection scandal of today seem like nothing. Whatever it is we as Christians must be prepared to resist whatever may constitute us as being part of Satan-s dark force.

Overview: So as we continue to look at signs of the coming of the end times The return of Jesus Christ, we will look at false prophets and anti-Christ and just how to better identify there ever growing presence in this world today. What do they look like and what do they sound like. Think about what you think of in terms of a false prophet. And do the same for the term anti-Christ. Can you think of any false Prophets that you have identified in your life time- Ok so what about anti-Christ who you have identified in your lifetime- It has often been seen that false Prophets attacking the church from within. And they very much will. --Paul in Acts 20-29 warns the Ephesians that they will come.--29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.--In this passage Paul describes them as savage wolves as he is expressing just how much of an extreme danger and false teacher can pose to the church. Yet we are to always remember that the Church is a place for sinners. Anytime you bring sinners into the church you have to teach them the truth of scripture before the take on roles within the church. But that is just it the church is responsible to bring the Lost to Christ.

Overview: So how might we know when the day is near- You may very well ask yourself will I know when the day is near. Have you asked yourself how can I know the end times are near- Maybe you know someone who says all those prophecies about the end times and end of the world are nonsense. Then you could know of someone of has said that Jesus is coming back tomorrow night at midnight. Well we know that that didn-t happen. On that one I will have you look to Matthew 24-36.--36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.--So here just to make it clear no man shall know the day and hour in which Christ shall come but God the Father only He knows. In this passage Jesus is responding the Disciples who were wishing to know an exact day and time in which they could expect Christ return. Instead Jesus wanted them as well as us to know that it is more important that we remain Faithfull, yet watchful that we may see the signs of that day approaching, practicing stewardship, being ever expecting His return at any time, and of course being prepared for when that day arrives, for when it has come it will be too late.

Overview: How have you received God guidance- Ever found yourself taking on task God did not set before you- Maybe you were even trying to avoid a situation only to determine that was exactly were God had wanted you in the first place. Sometimes though we may have the desire to follow the Lords direction we end up going off in our own direction and our efforts result in us becoming an obstacle in the Lords purpose. We can in our minds come up with the most often logical seeming plans. We can act on the most sincerely compassionate decision, oh it seemed reasonable but when these fail to line up with Gods will we become an obstacle delaying the Lords plan. We make mistakes, sometimes what the Lords will for our life-s is we just don-t think it is what we want. We get in the way by getting off on our own direction trying to change things we have no ability to change. We manage to do things our way far more often than we allow ourselves to be open to Gods way.
