Fear, anxiety, worry, and insecurity have become constant companions in human life and often seem so natural to us. Yet God did not create man to live in such perpetual fear, but rather to live in a conscious union with Him, drawing life, peace, and fulfillment directly from His presence.
In this series, Pastor Jeffrey Walter explores the origin of need in man, the relationship between need and fear, and the dangers of pursuing material fulfillment without God. He further reveals the origin of miracles, and how openness to the Quickening Spirit leads believers into a consciousness of no lack, freeing them from fear and positioning them to experience God’s abundant provision.
In this message titled “The Origin of Fear As We Know It," Pastor Jeffrey Walter explores how our sense of separation from God due to a lack of awareness of His presence brings about need, and how the inner hunger to satisfy our needs through external things gives rise to fear. Fear, therefore, is not merely an emotion but a symptom of separation from the consciousness of God’s presence.
Through Scripture and practical teaching, Pastor Jeffrey Walter explains how becoming “poor in spirit” awakens us to the indwelling presence of God and restores us to a life of dependence on Him. He encourages believers to learn to walk in the Spirit and depend fully on the Lord through humility, repentance, and surrender, which will bring us into a life of freedom, peace, security, and true fulfillment — a life in which fear no longer reigns.
