Ephesians; 1:4 - Election of church age believer, part 29
    Context of Heb 4:14-15:
Because the Son of God became flesh and blood in order to propitiate the Father for our sins:
Heb 3:1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling [elect], consider [make a careful investigation of] Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.
Heb 3:2 He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.
Heb 3:3 For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more...

Ephesians; 1:4 - Election of church age believer, part 28.
    Context of Heb 4:14-15:
    Heb 2:14 Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15 and might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
Heb 2:16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.
Heb 2:17 Therefore, He had to be made like His...

    Tuesday December 18, 2018
    Context of Heb 4:14-15:
Heb 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.
Heb 2:14 Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil;...

3g. The elect are royal priests in the kingdom of God.
We are currently studying the cleanliness of life of the elected royal priest. We are elected unto holiness and the blessings of our priesthood will only be experienced as we live in holiness as our Father is holy.

3g. The elect are royal priests in the kingdom of God.
"sin" "sins" or "sinners" occurs in my document 141 times. Sometimes people get tired of hearing the word. Other times people just don't want to deal with it and think it's best to ignore it. And I think most of the time it is not people's favorite message. Some of you might rather something else and maybe you conclude that you don't need to hear it, and maybe you don't, but you must remember, there is always someone listening who does. So, put on your best humility hat and pay attention.
Sin must not rule the royal priest. Sin in a life cannot be ignored or excused. Sin is confessed before God in search of His help in overcoming, in search of His mercy and...

    Thursday December 13, 2018
3g. The elect are royal priests in the kingdom of God.
As we closed last time, we noted that Jesus came into the world to give us life, and that life was the light of the world. The darkness does not comprehend it, but those who believe in Him become children of light and do comprehend it. The life that we had before salvation, the life of fallen man, was a perversion and irregular life separate from the Creator, and therefore it is not characterized by God as life.
Yet now, the believer priest, royalty and in union with the great high priest, Jesus the Son of God, whose priesthood and Tabernacle are in heaven, is gifted by grace with the life of Christ. The entreaty throughout the New Testament is that we live that life alone and exactly as God wills, and not with any alterations from...

3g. The elect are royal priests in the kingdom of God.
    Our main passage is:
1Pe 2:1 Therefore, putting aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,
1Pe 2:2 like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
1Pe 2:3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
1Pe 2:4 And coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected by men, but choice and precious in the sight of God,
1Pe 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ....

3g. The elect are royal priests in the kingdom of God.
1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jo 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
Evidence - inference: We confess or acknowledge our sins to the Father because we are forgiven. We approach the throne of grace, not condemnation, and we find mercy and grace to "help in time of need."
John is writing against the false teachers of Gnosticism. He...

  • Ephesians; 1:4 “ Election of church age believer, part 21.
    Sunday December 9, 2018
3g. The elect are royal priests in the kingdom of God.
We are currently dealing with the cleanliness of the believer priest. Every believer is cleansed from all sin by the blood of Christ. We are commanded to think and act as those who are clean.
Sin becomes a hindrance and a problem to the endeavor of holiness since it is the opposite. Every believer is plagued by some categories of sin. It has been judged on Christ. We must overcome them.
For the royal priest to function in his priestly role he must be clean in thought and action according to God's standard.
Rom 7:21 I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wishes to do good....
