Pastor Steve Miller

Pastor Steve preached from 1 Corinthians 11:17–34, calling the church to see communion rightly—not as routine, but as worship centered on the glory of Christ.

In Corinth, the Lord’s Table had become divided and self-focused. Paul corrects them by bringing their attention back to what truly matters: the body and blood of Christ. Communion is not about preference or status. It is about remembrance. It is about repentance. It is about proclaiming the Lord’s death until He comes.

When we gather at the Table with humility and discernment, the church is refocused. Our hearts are examined. Our unity is restored. And Christ is exalted.

Big Idea: God’s order for communion refocuses the church on the glory of Christ.

Pastor Steve preached from 1 Corinthians 11:2–16, reminding us that God is a God of order—not confusion—and His design is always good. What God establishes is intentional. What He orders is meant to bring life, clarity, and unity within the church.

True freedom is not found in rejecting God’s design, but in joyfully submitting to it. When the church lives under God’s authority, His beauty is displayed and His glory is made known.

Big Idea: Order within the church is the result of submission to God’s design.

1 Corinthians 10:23-33 | Pastor Steve Miller

Pastor Steve preached from 1 Corinthians 10:23–33, reminding us that freedom in Christ is never about self-indulgence, but about purposeful devotion. Not everything that is lawful builds. Not everything that builds glorifies God.

Christian maturity is marked by discernment—choosing what honors the Lord and serves others, even when we are free to choose otherwise.

Big Idea: Mature Christians live for the glory of God and the good of others.

1 Corinthians 10:16-22 | Pastor Steve Miller

Pastor Steve preached from 1 Corinthians 10:16–22, calling us to be aware of the demonic activity at work in our daily lives and to examine whether anything competes with devotion to Christ, urging careful discernment in what we participate in and where our allegiance truly lies.

Big Idea: Becoming aware of demonic connections can renew our devotion to the Lord.

1 Corinthians 10:1-15 | Pastor Steve Miller

Could ongoing disobedience be evidence of settled unbelief rather than momentary weakness?
First Corinthians 10 warns that Israel experienced God’s power and provision, yet drifted because unbelief led them to presume rather than obey.

Big Idea: Following spiritual instruction guides us away from presumption and toward God.

Acts 27 shows that when control is lost, God is not. In the storm, Paul stands firm on the promises of God, trusting that the Lord will do exactly what He has said. Pastor Steve Miller reminds us that confidence in God is not confidence in outcomes we prefer, but confidence in the faithfulness of a sovereign God. When circumstances are uncertain, God remains sure.

Luke 2:15–21 declares a simple and eternal truth: Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. The shepherds hear the word, go to see Christ, and respond with obedience and praise. Pastor Steve Miller points us to the sufficiency of Jesus alone. He is enough to save, enough to rule, and worthy of all rejoicing. When Christ is rightly seen as Lord, worship follows.

To weary hearts and watching shepherds, God announced good news of great joy—not judgment, not demand, but grace made flesh. Peace did not come through power, but through a Child laid in a manger.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
— Luke 2:11 (ESV)

This past week, we rejoiced in the saving message:
Christ has come.
Peace has been offered.
Glory belongs to God alone.

This past Sunday, Pastor Steve walked us through Luke 2 and reminded us that God is never reacting—He is ruling. From decrees and journeys to timing and place, every detail moved exactly as the Lord intended, bringing His Son into the world at the appointed moment.

What appears ordinary is often orchestrated. What feels disruptive is often directional. God accomplishes His redemptive purposes through the intentional details of our lives.

Big Idea:
God’s sovereign plan is accomplished through the intentional details of my life.

Key Truths:
• God rules over rulers and history alike.
• No moment in the life of Christ—and no moment in ours—is wasted.
• Our confidence rests not in circumstances, but in God’s control.

Acts 1:6-11 | Pastor Steve Miller

We gathered around God’s Word and were reminded that Jesus sends His church into the world with a clear mission.
Through the Spirit’s power, we carry the gospel forward with faith, focus, and urgency as we await His return.

Mission:
Make, mature, and multiply disciples through God’s power and for His glory.

Big Idea:
The church must be urgently engaged in expanding God’s mission.

Application:
The church depends fully on the Spirit’s power.
Christ’s return prioritizes urgency and focus.
Expansion is required to accomplish the mission.

All the glory to God.
