1. Who loves you more than anyone can and does? How much does He love you, and how did He prove it?
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:16, 17)
God loves you so much that He sent His son to die to pay for your sins so that you won’t die (perish in hell) but have everlasting life!
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” (1st John 4:8)
God’s love is supernatural, sacrificial, selfless, and sincere; unmeasurable, unconditional, unending. Our love is hypocritical, Hollywood – like, and humanistic (conditional). God is perfect (Matthew 5:48).
3. When does God love you?
· Before you get (got) saved.
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved),” (Ephesians 2: 4 -5)
· When you get (got) saved
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.” (1st John 3:1)
- God’s love for us is an everlasting love.
“The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3)
4. Where does true love come from? What is the source?
· Father! “…Love is of God…” (1st John 4:8b)
· Son (Jesus) “…the love of God is in Christ Jesus…” (Romans 8:39b)
· Holy Ghost (Spirit) “…the love of Gods is shed in our hearts by the Holy Ghost…” (Romans 5:5b)
Note: If you look for love without looking to God first, you will look for love in all the wrong places.
5. Why does God love you even though He knows everything about you?
· Because of who He is. Remember God is love!
Because of who you are. If you are not saved, God wants to save you
