In this episode of the Pastoral Thoughts Podcast, Pastor Jack sits down with Rob Gassman for a thoughtful and Scripture-centered conversation on the relationship between Israel and the Church.

Together, we explore the miracle of the Jewish people, the biblical covenants God made with Israel, and why Scripture presents Israel and the Church as distinct yet divinely connected parts of God’s redemptive plan. We also address common misunderstandings surrounding replacement theology and consider the prophetic future of Israel as revealed in the Word of God.

This episode is designed to help believers think biblically, carefully, and reverently about God’s faithfulness to His promises—and how that faithfulness strengthens our confidence in Him today.

Who calls the shots in your church? Who calls the shots in your life? Many Christians claim that the Bible is their sole authority, but is that what we practice?

In this episode, Pastor Jack Young, and Pastor Jonathan Mager describe the ways we can claim the Bible as authority but live with other authorities corporately and as individuals. This episode aims to help us sharpen our focus on and submission to the Bible as our Sole Authority.

Does your church name matter? Should we keep our denominational distinctions? Are they biblical?

In this episode, Pastor Jack and Pastor Jonathan introduce a new curriculum they are launching based upon the book “Why Baptist?” and discuss the biblical and practical questions surrounding the church in our nondenominational age.

In this episode of The Pastoral Thoughts Podcast, I sit down with Josh McKee, a Bible college student who recently spent a semester in England, combining academic study with hands-on ministry service. Josh shares what it was like to serve in a local ministry context while navigating life, learning, and Christian witness in another culture.

Our conversation explores the spiritual lessons learned outside the classroom—how ministry looks in a post-Christian culture, the challenges and encouragements of serving overseas, and the ways God uses faithful obedience in ordinary opportunities. Josh reflects on the importance of humility, adaptability, and faithfulness when stepping into unfamiliar territory, and how the Lord used this season to deepen his walk with Christ.

This episode is especially encouraging for young men and women sensing God’s leading toward ministry, missions, or simply wanting to grow through service. It’s a reminder that God often shapes His servants most profoundly when they are willing to say yes, step out, and serve wherever He places them.
