Dr. Tim Maness and special guest host Melody Buttram are joined by Jamie Massey. Jamie is an Ordained Minister with Cooper City Church of God and serves on the Board of Directors for Peniel Residential Drug/Alcohol Treatment Center in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She shares her story of overcoming the trials of being the child of a parent struggling with addiction and the work she is doing today as executive director of City of Lights Dream Center.

Dr. Tim Maness welcomes Joel Barron to this episode of Pastoring on Purpose. Barron is the associate/worship pastor at Starkville Church of God in Starkville, Mississippi. He has also been with European Theological Seminary for seven years, where he has served as an instructor, music ministries director, and director of recruitment. After experiencing the stress and anxiety of being overworked and burned out, Joel sought counseling from the Center for Ministerial Care, and stopped by our booth at General Assembly to offer his testimony to the work Dr. Maness and his team is doing to care for ministers and their families.

Manuel Martin-Arroyo, president of the European Theological Seminary in Germany, joins Dr. Tim Maness and Dr. Jeff Sargent to talk about the challenges and opportunities faced when pastoring internationally. This episode was recorded live at General Assembly 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Lance Colkmire is the managing editor of Church of God Publications and serves South Cleveland Church of God as missions pastor. Lance spent time with Dr. Maness and Dr. Sargent during General Assembly 2024 to talk about his work with CoG Publications, the need for books addressing mental health, and newly released books currently on shelves.

Gary and Brittany Jones are the founders of The Pursuit Project, an organization that helps church leaders and their congregations discover their purpose within the church. They joined us live from the General Assembly exhibitor hall to talk about this exciting new project.

Lee University Professor Skip Jenkins came by our booth at General Assembly to record a mini-episode about his new book, 20 Questions: Answering Your Questions About Speaking in Tongues. Skip teaches Historical Theology at Lee and based this book on questions his students posed to him.
