Different than failure, our flaws are at the root of who we are, not just in what we do. They cause us pain, they wound people around us. Because of that, most of us are tempted to hide our messy-but-true selves from the world. To be truly human isn’t...

While it’s good to stand out, it’s not good to stand alone. Too often we confuse the two. We end up living life independently, believing that to be successful, we must distance ourselves from others. True humanity is found in needing each other...

One of the oddest things we do is we take people who have been crafted individually, uniquely, diversely by our creator God and we try to make them all the same. There is nothing more dehumanizing than that. While conformity is an important part of...

Failure is not only a part of everyone’s experience, it’s a tremendous teacher. But failure is painful to experience and to admit. Too often we’re tempted to avoid failure by living with an abundance of caution, avoiding all risks, or even quitting...

America is still a “Christian nation” but no one knows for how long. Birthrates among historically “Christian” populations are way, way down while birthrates of some other religious groups remain very high. Not only is the face of America changing...
