From a young age, Bethany loved sports and knew she wanted to pursue sports journalism in college and her career.  In this episode, Bethany tells us how she intentionally worked to gain a variety of valuable experiences both during and after college to build her skills and her resume.  She also explains what it’s like to produce a morning news television program in two different markets, as well as move to the PR side of that industry.  

Cecy charted a new life for herself in a new country, navigating a complicated immigration system while creating a stellar professional reputation in the music scene.  She returned to college later in life for both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees, in the midst of originating a role in a series of mariachi operas with one of America’s premier opera companies.  Now we are anxiously awaiting the premier of her solo CD, Reencuentros, a compilation of Latin American Songs in honor of the music her mother sang to her as a child.  Join us for her inspiring story!

As a high school teacher, John works with students every day, and truly cares about his role as an educator.  As an artist, John wears many hats: director, composer, writer, musician...the list goes on and on. In this episode, John shares his journey from his undergrad in music education and how studying with the great playwright Edward Albee changed the course of his life. John went from Texas to New York City and back again, all the while working various jobs and continuing to create artistic pieces of music, writing, and stage production, including several award winning operas.
