Around 2011, Clint Eastwood tried to remake A STAR IS BORN with Beyoncé and any of a number of men including Bradley Cooper and maybe Tom Cruise. It didn't pan out, but the project eventually became Cooper's directorial debut and a star vehicle for Lady Gaga, who incidentally has a new album out today. We invited film critic, podcaster, and Lady Gagalogist Nicole Veneto to talk about the film, why Gaga gets under Jake's skin, and whether there's any Clint left in this thing.
