In this episode, we talk to Dr John Carr. John is a recognized international expert in supply chain management. His career stretches back to the 1980s with management position at companies such as Digital Equipment, EMC, Samsung, Irish express Cargo and Flex International.

John has a doctorate in supply Chain and master’s degrees in Advanced Manufacturing and Business Administration and currently heads the supply chain consultancy Offerre with clients in both the multinational and SME sectors. John is currently involved with several initiatives with IMC in Ireland and MIT in US to ramp up the production of ventilators in the COVID19 crisis.

In this interview, we discuss this exciting initiative and we exchange views on the past, present and likely future of global manufacturing and the supply chains that underpin it.

In this episode, will be talking to Amanda Setili, a business consultant and entrepreneur based in Atlanta, Georgia. Amanda works with major corporate clients across multiple sectors. Through her work, Amanda provides strategic direction to her clients’ endeavours with a concept that she has developed called Strategic Agility ® that she explains in this interview.

Amanda’s professional career began as a project engineer with Kimberly Clark. Later she worked with the consultancy McKinsey & Co. and spent for several years living and working in southeast Asia. She started her own consultancy, Setili, in 1998 and lists Walmart, Delta Airlines, Home depot and UPS among her clients. Amanda is the author of two business books, The Agility Advantage and Fearless Growth.

On this episode I speak with Mr. Peter Dawson the chairman of one of Portugal’s oldest privately held companies: Garland Logistics. Garland is a company that specialises in transport, shipping and logistics and the company has a long and interesting history that goes all the way back to the year 1776.

Peter has worked in the field of transport and logistics for over 40 years, first in the Netherlands, then for 8 years in Portugal, followed by 20 years in the UK with the company PSL Freight, before returning to the family business, Garland, in Portugal in 2002.

Peter lives in Sintra, Portugal, which he describes as being the most beautiful place in the world.
