The promise of AI in the 1950s was simply “intelligent machines”, but claims of actual intelligence on the scale of humans made in God’s image, well, is that even in the picture? What about sentience, a soul, an ability to sin? Those who bring it to life and want to dip their toes into the Singularity (living forever as a machine) have great dreams but is any of that even possible?
