Pats Chat: A Patriots podcast with Doug Kyed and Michael Hurley

The Patriots came close to blowing everyone's minds by getting to 2-0. Instead, they just blew it, losing in overtime to the Seahawks. Doug Kyed and Michael Hurley break down everything went wrong (and a few things that went right) in the 23-20 loss, which sets the Pats up for an interesting short week when they'll face the Jets.

Doug Kyed and Michael Hurley are back to preview the upcoming Patriots-Seahawks game. This team can't get to 2-0 ... right? Doug points out key areas of strength and concern for the Pats heading into the game. Plus, some leftover thoughts from Week 1, and some commentary on the big ESPN story about Robert Kraft's efforts to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Patriots are 1-0 after beating the Bengals 16-10 in Cincinnati. Doug said he saw it coming, but is he a liar? And what does this mean for the larger outlook of the season? Does Jacoby Brissett's performance change the desired timelines for a Drake Maye start? Plus studs, duds, and more.

Pats Chat is back! Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald and Michael Hurley of WZLX share their initial impressions of the Jerod Mayo era before laying out predictions and expectations for the 2024 season. When will Drake Maye play? What's the biggest area of concern? Can they win more than four games this season? All that ... AND MORE!

An "emergency" podcast, breaking down the latest on Patriots quarterback Mac Jones. There's tension between Jones and head coach Bill Belichick stemming back to last season. And there was a report that New England has shopped Jones. So, what happens from here? How did the Patriots get to this point? Who's to blame for the tension, and is it ultimately sad that there's even reports that the Patriots could trade a quarterback two years after taking him in the first round.

Doug Kyed and Michael Hurley discuss comments made by Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft at the NFL Annual Meeting on Monday. Belichick doesn't seem high on Mac Jones. Kraft does but also randomly mentioned that Lamar Jackson wants to play in New England, so what was up with that? And there was a lot of coaching conversation because the Patriots' coaching was bad last year and should be better in 2023. But we don't know if that's going to be good enough to make the Patriots relevant this upcoming season. So, why not trade for Lamar Jackson? There's risk, but it might be worth it.
