  • Wednesday morning hello

    Hello everyone,

It was heartening to hear from so many of you in my last post. I really loved hearing where you were writing from, connecting with so many unexpected places. Today I reported on the happy woes of the writer. I suspect many of you are writers, secretly or openly, so I thought it good to share a source of potential misery for of all writers.

I am now going to take a long walk, which is advisable to all who are able. Below in the jumble of new pages and old coffee cups are the two books I spoke of. Please take care of yourself and I will see you soon.

  • Memory lapses

So I suddenly remember what I was saying when suddenly a portrait of Waltraud Meirer and myself obscured my Photo Booth. . It was the Brooklyn Bridge accident. I worried it might the bridge might be closed down but it wasn’t and it looked as beautiful as ever. So sorry for the two deceased crew members and hopes for a speedy recovery for all those injured.

I just decided to include Waltraud’s beautiful Leibestod at La Scala in December 2007. The staging proved to be one of the most exquisite things I ever witnessed. So perhaps spend some time with her unsurpassable performance.

  • Peace be with you

Some peaceful settings….The first is the tree that the writer Dazai loved. Still healthy and covered with covered in vines and ivy. A friendly tree indeed.

  • Kyoto morning walk with crows

Early this morning I took a walk down (or up) a path parallel to the river, Mostly because I knew the crows that guard the cemetery would be up calling through the trees lough enough to wake Edgar Alan Poe. The crows are much larger than our crows and completely fearless, crafty and not unfriendly.

I took some urban snapshots in Kyoto. There are many beautiful shrines to say nothing of the restored temple of the golden pavilion. But I also like some of the older architecture and random streets. I am about to catch the train back to Tokyo so I will send a few pictures and write more later. Also I am including the coffee place I fell in love with but it was always closed. My crazy luck….

I hope everyone is well and staying mentally and emotional strong Tomorrow morning I go to Korea i will send messages through our technological bottle.

For now Im watching Full metal alchemist hoping sleep will soon arrive. Sweet dreaming everyone.
