Patti Smith

Sometimes when everything seems pointless, hopeless, out of reach I turn to music. Thank the stars for Bob Dylan who gave us the best of his youth with songs like this. My son Jackson on Telecaster. Tony Shanahan on bass. Jay Dee Daugherty on drums. Lenny Kaye on Stratocaster. I was a bit hoarse but the heart was strong.

Just thought you may appreciate this. Take care of yourselves. Drink plenty of water yet remembering those who are thirsty. See you soon.

We can all….

It’s raining the trees are flowering can’t stop sneezing the people took to the streets and whether there is hope or not there exists a craving for social justice.

I can therefore I am…

The photograph below taken by Rory O’Bryen is visiting the grave of Wittgenstein in Cambridge. It’s a modest graveyard where nature reigns.

Today I am going over the copyedit of my book, but wanted to take time out to salute all women. For the moment, I am speaking of our writers, just a few, but all women and their trials and triumphs are on my mind. I have mentioned those in particular through the books scattered about my room. Please tell us the books and writers that are dear to you on this day of the Woman.
