More Than a Public Image

Clarissa Burt has spent decades in public-facing work—as a former supermodel, actor, media personality, producer, author, and founder of In the Limelight Media. But our conversation is less about glamour than the distance that can exist between how the world sees someone and how that person sees herself.

Clarissa also won the Italian version of Celebrity Survivor. She describes being dropped from a military helicopter into unexpectedly shallow water, the illness that swept through the camp, severe food rationing, and the realization that the real contest was not simply against the other participants. It was a test of herself.
