At the top of today’s show, Paul and Moses discuss the difference between dropping and discarding, vis a vis a certain amount of a certain item within Dark Souls 3. After this, Moses tracks Donkey Kong’s trek to infamy and fame, followed by Paul asking an important question about where Moses might like to spend the rest of his days.
With no Blaseball to slow them down this week it’s right into the guest segment, featuring Professor Arnold Martin and his deep love and understanding of Psychonauts, and his hopes for its’ long awaited sequel. The three then make a game before saying goodnight. Joy! I mean, enjoy!
It’s episode 20 of Paul and Moses play, and we’ve got a jam packed two banger for you! Our hosts first chat about further co-op progress into Dark Souls 3, including the slaying of the Dragonslayer Armor, years in the making. After this we’ll hear what Moses loves about Blaseball(!) and Paul’s One Perfect Weekend.
Next, Moses tells Paul about his most frustrating gaming moment, and Paul talks about his spoiler practices. This leads in to Paul and Moses with your Blaseball Update, and our poorest showing ever at Make My Game!
Here comes another helping of Paul and Moses: Play! This week Moses sings the praises of Johan Sebastian Joust, and Paul laments the ultimate heartbreak in FTL: an enemy ship warping away with your boarding party still onboard. So sad.
In brighter segments Paul fondly describes revisiting SNES games with his younger brother, as well as the campfire-after-cold-walk of Awesome Games Done Quick, while Moses tells us why He Loves Katamari (soundtrack). Things then heat up towards the end of the show, with your Blaseball update and Make My Game featuring Emberlife!
It’s a brand new week, and a brand new episode! Today Moses adds a well deserved mining and crafting game to his ranked list, and Paul discusses his first encounter with a mimic while playing the much beloved Toejam & Earl, and how that game stacks up against the rest. We’ll also hear what Moses loves about an equally terrifying beast in Dark Souls 3, and going the distance in Choplifter and Mario 2. Later, our special guest Cassius Smith joins us to talk about some of his favorite experiences in online games, with an emphasis on Overwatch and Runescape. And don’t forget the worlds shortest Blaseball update and Make My Game!
On today’s episode Moses talks Macs and a childhood favorite, whereas Paul Trips the Beat fantastic, and they also discuss the differences between environmental hazards and regular enemies in a side scroller. After this Moses reveals what he appreciates about Sonic the Hedgehog porn and Paul discusses the complex spectrum of emotions that only being truly lost in a game world can conjure, and the two of them speculate as to why it seems so rare.
Rounding out the show are some scary memories, a book recommendation, Blaseball, and Android Pogo Factory or some such!
Coming up on today’s show, Moses will praise the novelty, heart, and unflinching narrative of Beyond Good & Evil, and Paul gets to deliver his love letter to the original Animal Crossing. Also on tap is a discussion of Moses’ fondness of coming home to old favorites, Paul’s love of station jingles in Densha De Go, and sorrow at the fact that they have since been omitted.
Our hosts will then move on to the topic of Moses’ trip away from, and return to, gaming as a whole, and we’ll also hear the genesis of a new feature, prompting him to share his gentle derision in regards to gambling.
Rounding out the show will be Paul with a massive Blaseball info dump, and our guest Steve Higgins tells us about his current adventures in Pokemon Go, and whether or not he hatches eggs at work. Finally, the three of them will bring the shame and squalor of a brand new game called Chrome Legacy to life.
