Pauper VS. The Bracket

This weeks episode is all about the amazing things that Enterprise Comics (Keene NH) is doing, especially in the world of Pauper EDH. We are joined by Michael who is the designer of Pauper Precons in the store. Yes you heard that right, there are Pauper Precons that you can pick up today! If you haven't had the chance to visit the store yet its amazing (see link below) and we chat about his process and what brought him to the world of Pauper EDH. Michael also shows off what his decks can do in a casual gameplay recap and not to spoil it but its pretty spicy.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for your patience over the past few weeks the Mage and I are working on getting back on track after the birth of my 3rd kiddo, but we hope to get back to a more sustainable and regular schedule in the nearish future.

-The Cardboard Chemist

This week the Mage is flying solo and giving a run down on his version of a pauper precon deck. With the commander Furnace Hellkite, see how his deck stacks up against the typical precon data and see if this lost Pauper precon of Tarkir Dragon storm can burn away the competition.

We are still planning on battling these decks in the future, and if you would like a chance to brew and battle with us, comment on this episode with a decklist of your own Pauper Precon list. We will reach out to some of the coolest builds and try to get a pauper duel going in the next few weeks. For flavor purposes we are looking for any pauper commander lists that could live within the world of Tarkir Dragonstorm. They do not need to be from the set, but something that has the vibes of the set works great.

Happy Brewing and here are some links that may help with your builds.

This week on Pauper vs. the Bracket we will be diving into what an average preconstructed deck looks like in our third Catalyst Question. These episodes are meant to dive into a particular part of MTG and help us make more informed decisions when playing/ brewing. We were inspired by the recent Foundations precon decks to explore what is the average state of precon decks these days, and how could we use that info to build our own precons. Join us this week to figure out just how many creatures are in an average precon, among other things.

This weeks episode is a super special one, we had the chance to speak with the world famous Magic the Gathering Artist Milivoj Ćeran. He is the designer behind cards such as Chatterfang, Cauldron Familiar, Halvar God of Battle, Hare Apparent, and many others. We had an awesome conversation about his roots in Magic art, what his process is when creating a new card art, as well as what advice he would give to aspiring artists today. It was a real joy to speak with Milivoj Ćeran and next time you are digging through your decks take a peak at the artist, chances are it very well could be one from him. Also you should check out his website and order artist proofs or other items. In honor of one of the most prolific Magic Artist of all times we will be battling it out with cards painted by Milivoj Ćeran in our next episode. So stay tuned for our battle of the artist and in the meantime let us know which of Milivoj's cards is your favorite on our poll this week.
