Once Amy Chmelecki set foot on a drop zone and experienced freefall for the first time at age 18, she knew she could do nothing else but skydiving for a career. She moved from New York to Arizona out of college and never looked back. Since 1998 Amy has made over 19,000 skydives and flown over 4000 hours in the tunnel. Her accomplishments include 5 world titles, 10 national titles, 20 world records as well as the first female member of the Red Bull Air Force. In this episode, Amy shares how she’s navigated highs and lows in the skydiving profession and what it took to break in as a female pioneer in a traditionally male-dominated field.
