She shares her perspectives on the journey from veganism into goat and cow dairy farming, and speaks to the intricacies of working with the animals as equal team members. She also speaks to her fluid take on polyamory and again having all involved people sitting at the "kitchen table" as equals. Sophia, for me, exhibits the beauty of questioning and staying curious and stays open to how life, farming and relationships can flow.   

Sophia is a first-generation, small scale, farmer preoccupied with making the dairy industry kinder to the animals it depends on. She started the farm with money saved from an apprenticeship and a rucksack full of her worldly possessions. It was built with salvaged materials, borrowed tools and a motley collection of animals. She’s worked second jobs to keep it afloat, lived in tents and vehicles and been amazed by the kindness in her community. 5 years later and Dyfi Dairy is a thriving, expanding project.
