PAX Attack - Autocross Stories

Every autocrosser is searching for something. It could be that little bit of time you left out on course during your last run, or it could be that you're searching for a way to escape the daily grind whatever it is, the search is one thing that we all share in common.

On this episode, we feature three drivers from across the country who are all searching for something different. It could be a national championship, the perfect build or a more inclusive grid where we are all driving forward together.

Miata concept engineer Norman Garrett, joins us to share his experience working on the design of the NA Miata. We chat about how autocross informed the Miata's design and Norman shares what it was like to drive the prototype on the streets of Santa Barbara, California. A special look into the life of Norman Garrett, Concept Engineer for the NA Miata.

On this episode we explore the autocross journey of the Porsche 914. Join us as we dive into how the Action Porsche went from market failure to autocross champion.

It all started back in the 1960’s when Volkswagen and Porsche joined forces to create what they hoped would be an economical mid-engine, two-seat sports car. However, the 914 struggled to meet sales expectations and was rejected by Porsche owners. But here in the United States, autocrossers knew better. Across the country, autocrossers would prove the value of the car by winning Regional and National Championships for almost 50 years.

The Miata is one of the most common cars out at an autocross event and dare we say one of the best to ever hit the grid. Join us as we explore the origins of the NA Miata.
