There are two kinds of wildlife encounters in Alaska – desired and undesired. Sharing the landscape with iconic animals like bears, wolves and moose is a privilege that residents enjoy, but it can also be a dangerous and even deadly arrangement when you go walking where the wild things are. Lynn Fitch lived in Alaska for almost 18 years and still refers to the Aleutian Islands and the vastness of the mainland as home. She now lives in North Portland where she creates gardens

and native habitat to share with the urban wildlife who inhabit her neighborhood. She worked for more than 35-years in the non-profit sector, helping all types of organizations tell their stories, in order to raise money and do good work.
