This story is about the folly of youth, when you often lack good sense, understanding and foresight, and how long the road can be to forgiveness. Lynn has had a long and successful career as a fundraiser, but now as she embarks on the second half of her life, she is embracing the role of an eccentric, fierce-with-age gardener and sometimes storyteller.

Sharon Fennell “Who’s Choosing?”

High school dropout and professional tennis player; sporting prowess outshone education, at least in Australia. Retired from a professional tennis career and uneducated at 20 years of age Sharon found herself on a journey of self-doubt and discovery. Attempting to form a new identity, Sharon was ripped from a world of structure and discipline and thrown into the rudderless experience of a life. This is a journey of discovering intrinsic motivation, boundaries, and self-worth; a story about learning to live from the inside out.

Maria-Luisa’s story takes us from a sense of belonging in Argentina to Portland, Oregon, where she had to pretend and adapt in order to belong. She has finally arrived at a non-geographical place where she has integrated her cultural values and history -- finding her true voice and spirit within herself. Known as the "Empanada Lady" at the Portland Saturday Market from 1976 to 1986 and then as "profe" at two high schools, she is now volunteering with different nonprofits.

Lawrence Howard, "The Peddler of Ballaghadereen"

Sometimes dreams are worth listening to, and sometimes they're not. In this traditional Irish tale, a poor peddler follows a dream halfway across Ireland. Is it a leap of faith, or an act of folly? Lawrence Howard is not Irish; he's the other "ish." But he married an Irish lass and he loves an Irish folk tale just as much as anyone. When he's not mispronouncing "Ballaghadereen," he likes to read about heroic adventures in the Antarctic and around the world.
