Doug White spent more than 30 years serving his country and community — first in the United States Air Force, then 25 years in law enforcement where he served as a patrolman, lieutenant, trainer, canine supervisor, domestic violence investigator, and bomb technician. He also returned to active duty after 9/11, serving nearly four decades combined in military and law enforcement service.
But behind the uniform… Doug was silently breaking.
In this episode, Doug shares the weight of trauma, the psychological injuries that come with service, and the point where pain, exhaustion, and hopelessness nearly overtook him. What followed wasn’t instant healing — it was grit, grace, faith, vulnerability, and the hard, intentional work of rebuilding his life.
We talk about:
• The hidden emotional cost of service
• Navigating PTSD, trauma, and mental injury
• Breaking the silence and stigma around first responder mental health
• Vulnerability as strength
• Faith, resilience, and purpose when life hits rock bottom
• The power of telling your story
Doug’s story is raw, deeply human, and incredibly powerful. It’s a reminder that even the strongest men struggle — and there is hope, healing, and purpose on the other side.
