How Fast Can I Build a Direct Sales Business With Social Media

I just passed my 16th year of marketing online and I have never missed a month of sponsoring someone into my business through the internet.

At the same time, I am actively involved in talking to friends and family, sharing what I do, as well as networking offline at events, groups and as I am out and about.

Are you coming to the internet from a few based proposition? If so, that is a recipe for disaster.

If you’ve read my story, you’ll know I had a team of over 10,000 already when I took my business online.

I was solid, making a good income and had developed the business skills I needed to be a success.

I had done it all, too. Warm market, putting up flyers, attending networking events, running ads, business opportunity leads and everything!

So, how fast can you build a direct sales business on Social Media?

That depends on you.

You must be authentic, consistent, a networker, engaged with people online, willing to be out there and letting people subtly know about your business through more of a marketing message than an advertising message.

Are you willing to create content? Youtube videos?

What ARE you willing to do?

You can’t be a secret agent and be successful in Network Marketing.

What’s your work ethic? That’s another thing to factor in.

What is the Easiest Direct Sales Business to Build

When I left my first company in search of one that better aligned with my values, I reached out to some professionals in Network Marketing and asked their opinion about what product lines are stable, and such, so I understand this question.

It’s not EASY to be successful in ANY business. It’s simple., but not easy because we complicate things.

You can see someone else soaring in a business, but until your own mindset is straight, it won’t matter what business you are attempting to build.

Once your mindset is straight, you can be successful at anything.

Make a list of things that excite you.

What are you passionate about? What products can you and will you talk about to anyone?

How Do I Choose the Right Direct Sales Company

First, there is no BEST company, regardless of what anyone says. No best pay plan, product line, no easiest company to build, no perfect one size fits all.

There is ONLY what is best and feels right and good to YOU.

Different products, pay plans and so on are going to resonate differently with each of us as individuals.

Just like anything else.

The key is to find those hot buttons for you.

What products can you get excited about using, sharing and talking to your friends and family about.

Yes, I did say friends and family.

How much is the start up kit?

Monthly auto ship costs?

How do you get paid?

What system will your sponsor be coaching you on?

How does all of this feel for you?

Can you see yourself actually doing what it takes?

Once you’ve found a few companies, you’ll have to do some evaluations and then go within and let your gut guide you!

Creating a Compelling Why and Vision for Your Network Marketing Business

Key Listening points on today’s show -

Mindset and compelling vision is what I deal with more than anything with my one on one coaching clients. It’s not the perfect script or nuts and bolts needed, but more a mindset shift to get them out of bed and into action!

There are 3 parts that go into Who we are and what we create and those are -

Who do we want to be, or become through our business? What do we want to have, those tangible things we want to have? And what do we want to DO with our time and money.

This are both tangible and intangible concepts.

Is it travel? More free time? What is it for you?

The most compelling piece - who do you want to BECOME in your journey of building a business?

Most of us come into our business without thinking about who we will become.

And, when we think about becoming a six figure income earner, we have to answer some questions, and one of those is that the person who we ARE, who we BECOME; is what will attract the right people and opportunities into our business.

As you sit down to create your vision, think first of who you want to become. Who do you admire in the profession and what are those qualities that attracts you that make you want to emulate them?

Are there other leaders, coaches and others outside of network marketing who you would like to be more like?

What are those qualities and what do you need to do to become that person and create those personality traits?

My goal was to become a business builder and a leader at the same time that I was a stay home mom. So I started with WHO I wanted to be as a mom, and what those qualities looked like.

I started there, and that made it easier to prioritize things about my business so that I could have the time, while at the same time create the income to support those goals!

I just settled my daughter in the UK for a study abroad year in college, and the ability to have the time and income to do that - and travel there with her to get her moved in, has been a compelling part of my why.

When your why and vision is strong enough, you will move out of your comfort zone to have all that you want; do all that you want and BE all that you desire!

How Do I Serve My Customers in the Best Way

Customer matter, especially in light of the Vemma situation. Good customer care will keep them as customers and ambassadors. Connect to say thank you right away - Facebook message, facebook group message, email, thank you card and ongoing contact. Ask them about hosting a party, possibly. How Important Are Events to My Network Marketing Business Success? Do you NEED to attend events? No. Is it advisable? Yes! Here is what events do:

Build belief - yours and your team.

You’ll see lots of other people who are normal, fabulous and it will instill in you the belief that you can do this, too, if others were.

It will build a team bond and culture that can’t be replicated over conference calls.

You and your team will learn more in a weekend than 52 weeks of conference calls.

Your company event is always the most important, and there are also generic events.

If you are interested in a smaller, boutique type event with 10 people where we develop a vision and a plan that fits you, contact me! We are putting this together for January 2016.

Now, as far as your kids and your spouse - they will be fine. Your kids will love the time they get with just your spouse, and you will enjoy the break! Speaking mostly to the women here. Listen as I share the kooky things I did to control the universe when I traveled! As far as your spouse’s support, now is when you need to have a heart to heart with yourself; decide how committed you are, and then have that heart to heart with your spouse.

How do I let my warm market know about my Network Marketing Business?

First, you must detach from the outcome. You can’t base your decision to stay involved or to keep going based on what any one or two people say.

Go through each person on your list.

What does the opinion of each one mean to you?

Try visualizing a positive outcome as you contact and invite them to take a look.

Use good Success Language. You can find that at StreetSmartScripts.com

Use a third party approach. Be calm and use no hype!

Write out what you might say and then look at it from their perspective. Is it simple, not salesy, and much like you were asking for their opinion on a pair of shoes?

Get yourself to that point.

And, don’t forget the take away if they get negative - I would love to have a conversation with you about what I am doing, but until you’ve reviewed the details, you don’t know what it is, even though you think you do. Should I Blog About Network Marketing or More on My Company

To answer this, I have to take you full circle on my journey online:

Started 1999

Was scared to mention Network Marketing

Built my first website (no blogs then) around my Telecom company.

Changed companies and changed content to reflect Health and Wellness

Got caught up in Internet hype and changed wellness companies a year and a half later, so changed my site again.

Did not like the company or products and figured out the health products were not a good fit for me.

Started with a candle company, where I become the top income earner and built an entirely new site around candles and a business with candles.

in 2009, launched JackieUlmer.com as a blog and was doing a lot more generic training, so I switched to mostly generic content.

January this year, started with a new company in makeup and skin care, and have now launched a new blog, MakeupBizTips.com all around that product and all things have to do with makeup, fashion and fun.

It’s easy for me to find content for this, as it is EVERYWHERE. Ideas are everywhere.

So, the question for you - what are you excited about creating content around? What will you find it easy to write about? What’s your passion around?

Can you see yourself creating this content month in and month out, as that’s the commitment it takes with a blog.

Be sure and consider my Inner Circle Coaching Program and go through the target market and branding modules and learn how to define a niche for yourself and a focus.

What Does It Take to Become a Six Figure Income Earner in Network Marketing

It doesn’t matter what kind of business you are building - network marketing, party plan, a coaching practice or online business - it comes most often down to Mindset.

It takes a specific mindset to get to a six figure income in any profession.

The first question I always ask is -

Are you already earning a six figure income? The answer to this will say a lot.

It’s more than just developing your business skills, or the perfect script and sizzle line. It’s a mindset.

You must be willing to go through the challenges that it takes to build a six figure business.

If you’ve seen someone where it appears to happen overnight, there is typically a story before, that you are unaware of. They went through the process and paid their dues somewhere else before.

How much time are you willing to invest in building your business?

How much money are you willing to invest?

The time issue is critical, because when someone says - I’m gonna give it a try and I have about 10 hours a week.

Here is the reality - if they are working 40 hours a week now into a job and not making a 6 figure income, even 40 hours invested into their Network Marketing business is going to take some time to get it to the six figure income level.

It takes some time to learn the skills, develop the business flow and get comfortable with a daily routine and what to say, etc.

So, at ten hours a week, how long would they be willing to give it to get to the 6 figure income level?

We must be realistic about the time investment needed and the risk tolerance needed to get there. Will they make the list, make the contacts, follow up and develop that tough outer shell.

Get with the sponsor and have them help you lay out a daily action plan and develop the list of skills that you’ll want to learn to get there.

And, you must be a self starter. PERIOD.

It’s up to you - both your success and your failure. Look within and find what you need inside yourself.

If your sponsor is inactive, oh well. Contact your company and find someone active upline who is invested in your success, too.

Becoming a Six figure income earner starts with mindset, daily actions and business skills.

Learn the art of contacting, inviting, presenting with tools, follow up, asking them to join your team and then duplicating the process.
