Welcome to Peak Performance Hacks Podcast. I'm Doctor Gan, your host, and my mission with this podcast is to educate my audience about biohacking. Enjoy
In this episode of Peak Performance Hacks, Dr. Gan speaks with Danielle A. Vincent, founder of Outlaw, a unique scent company. Danielle shares her entrepreneurial journey, insights on building a multi-million dollar business, and how scents can evoke powerful personal memories. She also opens up about overcoming burnout, mental health struggles, and the importance of self-reflection, balance, and resilience. A raw, inspiring discussion for business owners and anyone seeking growth.
About guest:
After more than 10 years as a corporate digital product manager for such sites as Oprah.com, ABC.com, and ABCFamily.com, Danielle Vincent quit her career and pulled up her rubber gloves to make a living manufacturing and selling soaps as Outlaw Soaps.
Her experience with social media, product management, web analytics, business, and design have made Outlaw Soaps into a personal experiment as she finds out what happens when she applies her largely digital learnings to the real world.
Key points:
Power of Reflection and Change:
Danielle emphasized that you have the power to reshape your life. If you’ve created a situation you dislike, you can also create a better one through intentional choices and mindset shifts.
The Importance of Mental and Physical Health:
Stress and burnout can manifest physically (e.g., her hiatal hernia). Taking care of your mental health through tools like meditation, therapy, and rest is critical for entrepreneurs.
The Impact of Scent on Memory:
Scent is directly tied to the brain's emotional centers, creating instant, vivid memories. Danielle built her business around the magic of scents evoking personal connections.
Reframing Challenges:
Sometimes all you need is to reframe a problem or obstacle to see it as an opportunity. Danielle shared how AI tools like ChatGPT helped her shift her mindset during stressful moments.
Work-Life Balance Through Sabbaticals:
Taking extended breaks—like Danielle’s sabbatical to Europe—can provide a fresh perspective, rekindle creativity, and reignite passion for your work and life.

Doctor Gan delves into the common challenge of procrastination—why we do it and how to reclaim our focus. He shares his personal experiences and outlines key reasons people tend to procrastinate, such as the allure of instant gratification and the tendency to avoid challenging tasks. Dr. Gan also introduces practical strategies for overcoming procrastination, including prioritizing important tasks, time blocking, and breaking larger projects into manageable pieces.
Join him as he emphasizes the importance of self-honesty and the need to be kind to ourselves as we navigate productivity.
🎙Key points:
Reasons for Procrastination: Common reasons for procrastination include the desire for instant gratification, the avoidance of challenging tasks, and the tendency to focus on easier, less important activities that provide quick rewards.
