In our latest episode, we're joined by Newsmax's John Huddy, who gives us an exclusive look at what's the latest in Ukraine. We then shift our focus to the conversation of the day: Learning the true moviation of art. Artists have many motives for painting. Some of their motivation to paint is inspired by their feelings; some are profoundly inquisitive as to what a paint brush can create; other artists historians and attempt to guide the viewing audience to better understand the world around them, as well as themselves. What we learned from our guest, Dr. Mark Osterman, is that knowing the background and the history of an artist, often allows for a more accurate interpretation of the work. Art appreciation, therefore, is not just a self-centered interpretation of what is on the canvas, often prone to naïve assumptions, rather, there can be an informed intimate bonding with the artist. This allows art to be transcending, inspirational, and a teaching/learning tool. So the next time you decide to go to a museum, it probably is a good idea to do your homework first, and learn as much about the artist. If an artist is at a showing, consider yourself fortunate to have the mind of the artist and the visual of intent before you.
