The republican party, once a party of ideas and conservative policy, seems to be a shell of itself. Debates lack intellectual honest and favor personal attacks. Loses are not just loses, but evidence of fraud and conspiracy. A party that once promoted a conservative agenda now seems to rely on populist ideas. For many of us, it is unrecognizable.

On today's podcast we discuss exactly how we got here, and where we go from here. How can we get back to a world where there is a legitimate alternative to liberal policy? It is a critically important.

In the last year, we have seen more political activism from more people than potentially ever before. Thousands took to the streets and marched. Millions voted who had never voted before. People like Andrew Cooperrider, owner of Brewed in Lexington, KY, became an accidental activism when he was faced with losing his business or closing indoor dining. Andrew's story is an important incite into what many businesses faced in the last year, and what they hope with change for the future. Unfortunately, not all political activism was as positive as Andrew's. Last week, Trump supporters took to the US Capitol, breaking in, attacking police and defacing the building. There is plenty to reflect on regarding last week's siege, so today we start with some early reflections.

Alan Hincks is the Owner of Dundee Tavern - one of the many restaurants that has faced the many hurdles and mandates placed by government over the last several months. After following the rules for several months and doing everything they could to make their establishment safe, they faced harsher regulations. Now, the restaurants are looking to fight back. Alan along with several other restaurant owners, have filed a lawsuit challenging the Governor's mandates. They hope they can some relief, or some support, because without it they may all be done.

On election night a few weeks back, conservatives may have had more to celebrate than you think. In several states, including some deep blue states, ballot measures were rejected or approved that seemed to fit a conservative agenda. Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform, joins us on this episode to talk through the good news from many different states on many different issues. The bad news, however, is that despite some good news on election night, many states are headed back to a lockdown. More businesses will almost certainly be lost, jobs gone, and the science ignored. The worst news? Kentucky is one of them.
