October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month. For Jay Randolph this month meant the opening of his new organization, the Chloe Randolph Organization. Created in memory of his daughter who was murdered by her husband, Jay is on a mission to provide the resources, education and support that domestic violence victims need. Hear from Jay on what their mission is, and some of the changes they are pushing for.

How did quarantine effect teens? It is a question that Dr. Sarah Coyne and her colleagues wanted an answer too, so they took a deep look at teens' well being over the last few months. Some of the results may actually surprise you. While adults have struggled with their own mental health, faced depression and suicidal thoughts, teens in many sense have not. Hear us discuss some of the surprising and more obvious findings from the report on today's podcast.

Over the last few months, legislators across the country have all come to the same conclusion; my governor has too much power. The feeling has crossed party lines and has people wondering what the solution in. Here in Kentucky, Rep. Savannah Maddox has already pre-filed a bill to address the concerns. Daniel Dew, the Legal Policy Director for Pacific Legal Foundation, has been working with legal experts, lawyers, think tanks and legislators across the country to find these solutions. On today's podcast he joins us to discuss the role they are playing, and how we can effectively address these issue in the coming legislation session.

There are plenty of benefits to work. For many people, the pay allows them to raise families, pay rent, buy food, and contribute to our economy. But for so many others, work is more than just a paycheck, and they may not even realize it. Evidence has shown that those who stay employed, regardless of pay or position, show signs of better mental health and physical health, and their families are better off. Marriages are stronger. Children perform better in school. By taking away that job with the economic lockdown we saw, policy makers almost certainly caused more harm with good. As more evidence points to lockdowns having little to no effect on the spread of the virus, we must make it clear; no more lockdowns.

The first presidential debate of 2020 was certainly a memorable one. And while it seemed to have bickering and interrupting, it lacked a lot of substantive policy discussions. So, to hopefully provide you with some of the insight or reactions to the important policy issues brought up last week, on this episode of the podcast we dive into those issues. Healthcare reform, taxes and economy, crime and justice, all critical issues in our country, we work through what wasn't worked through on Tuesday night. Enjoy!

After the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, everything looked up for Kentucky's hemp industry. With promise of being the next great Kentucky crop, farmers set out to plant and sell as much hemp as they could to make as many products as they could. Unfortunately, years later, the FDA has failed to clear the way for farmers to get their products to the market. Inaction on their part on a clear regulatory framework has left the industry handcuffed.
