Ep. 7: Eric Edelstein (Willy) Recorded before te strike

I got very lucky to get to know Eric through the vintage page and honestly had one of the most rewarding experiences recording an episode with him. It's one of my favorites. Eric is a great actor, but also a great human being. He is what us Jews refer to as a mensch, which translates to a person of integrity and honor. Eric is an excellent actor and a very authentic person. He is a what you see is what you get kind of guy, and it's why I have always enjoyed him in anything I see him in. We talk about a wide variety of subjects including his love for Neil Young, working with David Lynch, and talking about his Grandfather. This was an honor for me. Eric is an amazing storyteller and tells some great ones here. Enjoy. If you don't know his work go to his Imdb page and start exploring.

Eric Edelstein is a character actor most known for playing "Grizz" on the hit Cartoon Network show We Bear Bears and for dying painfully in the movies Jurassic World and Green Room. He has recurred on Parks and Recreation, Fresh off the Boat, Shameless, and Drunk History and guested on shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Modern Family, and Love. You can see him now as "Daddy Shark" on Nickelodeon's "Baby Shark's Big Show" as "King Shark" on Teen Titans and as "Geoff" on Disney's "The Ghost and Molly McGee”, and Willy in “Minx”

Ep 5: Ellen Rapoport (Creator and Showrunner of "Minx") 

My only real introduction to the material in this episode are the words Clifford's Big Red Dick. If that doesn't inspire you to listen, I just don't know what will. I lied. I have one more thing to say and that is, mark my words, Ellen Rapoport will either be a very powerful woman in Hollywood in two years, or she will be a cult leader (but for a nice people cult that also makes tv shows and movies) Kind of like a Jewish version of "The Source Family." A Jewish Mother Yod. 

About Ellen 

Ellen Rapoport is an American television writer, producer, and director who created and executive produced the 2022 ⁠television comedy⁠ series ⁠Minx⁠. Rapoport also wrote the screenplay for the 2020 movie ⁠Desperados⁠. Rapoport grew up in the ⁠Midwest⁠ to immigrant parents. education. Rapoport earned a ⁠bachelor's degree⁠ from ⁠Cornell University⁠. Rapoport earned a ⁠Juris Doctor⁠ from ⁠Harvard Law School⁠. In her third year of law school, Rapoport had to write a third-year paper, which was a one-hundred page legal thesis. She convinced her law school professor to let her write a legal drama for this assignment, which inspired her to start writing scripts. After graduating from law school, Rapoport became a corporate lawyer at ⁠Paul, Weiss, Wharton & Garrison⁠. She recalls disliking her job as a lawyer. Rapoport sold her first script while employed at the firm. Rapoport created and executive produced ⁠The Starlet⁠, a 2005 reality TV show.  She also developed multiple television pilots, including "Puck Buddies" for ⁠Fox⁠, "Hex Ed." for ⁠ABC Family⁠ and ⁠Sony⁠, and "Legally Blonde" for ⁠MGM Television⁠.

In 2009, Desperados got picked up by ⁠Universal⁠, with Rapoport attached to write the script. In 2020, the film was released on Netflix.

Rapoport wrote for the 2021 film ⁠Clifford the Big Red Dog⁠. Rapoport is the creator of the critically acclaimed comedy series Minx. On February 19, 2020, HBO Max gave the project a pilot order, with Rapoport attached to write, as well as executive produce with ⁠Paul Feig⁠ and Dan Magnante. The show, along with Rapoport's writing, was positively reviewed by the public, holding a 97% rating on ⁠Rotten Tomatoes⁠. In 2022, Rapoport signed a deal with ⁠Lionsgate Television⁠.
