How we must prepare for the coming great day when all will be revealed and perfect justice will be done

Pastor Peter Simpson expounds the theme of God's sovereignty over the nations, and considers in the light of Scripture Europe’s ongoing migration crisis with special reference to Britain. He examines how churches generally swim with the tide of secular political correctness in approaching the issue of large-scale migration, whilst disregarding clear Biblical principles concerning God's ordinance of nationhood and controlled borders.

This third address by Pastor David Carson from Chester emphasises how the state of the nation is a reflection of the state of the church. If the churches engage in doctrinal compromise and abandon the sole authority of God's word, this will inevitably be reflected in national decline and liability to judgement. The apostles never shrank from addressing plainly the prevailing sins of their day, and to be effective the churches must do likewise today, no matter what the cost to them in popularity that challenging the prevailing wisdom might be.

All men are under an obligation to submit to the one true Trinitarian God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Most people, tragically, do not bow to Christ the King, and so they will never sing the new song of those who are saved from their sins and who are bound for heavenly glory.

To deny Christ's true nature as the Son of God is to reject Him outright and to remain unsaved. He is nothing less than God manifest in the flesh and the only means of salvation for sinful fallen mankind.

These are the pieces of armour which we must take up in order to stand in the Christian life :

1) the belt of truth, which is our personal truthfulness and sincerity of heart.

2) the breastplate of righteousness, which is the need for personal righteous conduct in our daily lives.

3) the firmly prepared boots, which are our personal knowledge of the Gospel for salvation and peace, and also as being the only hope of all mankind.

4) the shield of faith, which is our constantly believing all that God has promised and warned.

5) the helmet of salvation, which is our hope of final salvation and glory, whereby we never forget our heavenly goal.

6) the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, the objective body of truth that God has revealed to men in his written word.

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard". The word of God encourages us to learn from God's creation and from, in particular, the ant, whose continuing activity is a picture to us of the need to "spend and be spent" in the service of Him who died that the sinner might live.

In this passage we see the hand of the Lord coming against the nation for having deserted Him, the one true God.

Wisdom in Proverbs 9 is the Lord Jesus Christ calling all non-believers to come and feast at His table and experience the gift of His salvation.
