People In Your Neighbourhood episodes

  • S2E6 - Tim Nuttall - "A Hooligan's Sport Played By Gentlemen"

It is my pleasure to introduce you to my friend and my pastor, Tim Nuttall! He moved his amazing family to Windsor over 2 years ago, and has a natural way of showing appreciation to the people in his life. And appreciating life, period.

Surprisingly, we don't talk about the music we grew up on. He's a radical and I am glad he's one of the People In My Neighbourhood...

Banwell Community Church - YouTube and Facebook

Once again, we are graced by the musical stylings of Lp.

  • S2E5 - Geoff Laforet - "I Lied To My Parents"
Geoff literally kept me alive. Many times.
When Geoff joined the first band I ever managed, Leaderdogs For The Blind, he and I would travel from Windsor, ON to Flint, MI several times a week for band meetings, rehearsals and general shenanigans. And he introduced me to the music of the Foo Fighters. I am grateful for both.
We talk roller rinks, lying to parents and always having each other's back.
Here are some of the things we covered:
The Tragic Story of Emmett Till
    Laforet Film & Creative
    Leaderdogs For The Blind
    Bangupstate

  • S2E4 - Kari Pennise-Hummer - "We Are Not Meant To Live Small"

Kari was the last stage of my approval process. Even though I had known my future wife for more than 15 years, I still had to pass the Kari Test!

Fortunately, I did, and here we are. Kari is one of the People In My Neighbourhood that embodies Resilience and Tenacity. Her whole family has taken us in and every time we get together, the food and beverage is exceptional and the conversations around the room are warm and loving.

I look forward to the book she's going to write, the way she encourages my wife (and everyone she meets) and her next step in the journey!

Here are some things we covered:

    The FeminineXperience

    Easy - Camila Cabello (SNL)
    Aerial Arts of Rochester
    Courage To Change (Book)
    Calling In "The One" (Book)
    Tony Robbins

As always, Lp lights up our surroundings.

  • S2E3 - Kevin Rogers - "Travelling The Road To Armageddon"
Windsor and Essex County is a better place because Kevin moved back to town with his family. Yes, that is a mighty bold statement, and I stand by it.
The continuing revitalization of historic Ford City owes something to the New Song Church community and the leader with a vision to buy a 1920's bar at its centre. The community that helped bring me and my kids back to life.
A preacher and a lawyer walk into a bar, and one of them Introduces Larry Norman to Detroit Public Radio...

  • S2E2 - David Cummings - "It's Your Kids, Marty!"
I don't know if this is proper English, but I've never not known David Cummings. We've discussed things deep and shallow and everything in between. I look forward to sharing meals again, you know, once borders open and all, but this was the best way to reconnect with my brother.

  • S1E25 - John Joseph Thompson - "She's Got An Audience. But She Needs A Bigger Audience."

In another life, John (JJT) and I crashed an exclusive Nashville party or 3. Today, we celebrate his birthday by bringing the party to Your Neighbourhood.

The Founder of True Tunes is one of several hats that John wears, and he shares many of the lessons he learned in spite of himself. Part of his mission is to encourage us all to "Listen to better music and listen to music better."

    A noble mission, indeed.
