Ein eigenes Café eröffnen? Im schönen Berlin Prenzlauer Berg? Für viele ist das ein Traum. Marie Schlüter hat genau das einfach gemacht, mit 25, mitten in der Coronakrise. Die Story wollte ich mir genauer anhören und so kam es zu diesem besonders schönen Podcast Gespräch. Marie erzählt mir darin von ihrem Weg, der sie aus ihrer Heimatstadt Köln über ein BWL-Studium in Aachen nach Berlin geführt hat. Sie verrät mir, welche Rolle dabei das bekannte Start-Up ArtNight gespielt hat, warum ihre Mutter eigentlich der Auslöser für den Café-Plan war und was sie als Kölnerin der Berliner Gastroszene beisteuern möchte. Natürlich entlocke ich ihr auch das Konzept für ihr wunderschönes und sehr großes Café und teste ganz nebenbei für Euch ihren selbstgemachten Schokoladenkuchen, den sie dort verkauft. Ich hatte die große Freude, mit dem sehr sympathischen und engagierten Autor, Moderator und Medienmacher Raul Krauthausen über das AktivistSein zu sprechen. Ich habe Raul gefragt, wie man am besten anfängt, wenn man sich für etwas besonders einsetzen möchte. Raul hat dazu ganz konkrete Tipps und mir erzählt, wie sein Alltag als Aktivist aussieht. Wir haben auf seine inzwischen über 20 Jahre Engagement als Inklusionsaktivist zurückgeblickt und über die besonders schönen und besonders schwierigen Momente gesprochen. Es war mir eine große Freude, Raul auch ein paar persönliche Fragen stellen zu dürfen. Natürlich haben wir auch über Berlin gesprochen. „Wie oft hatte ich auf dem Spielplatz schon das Gefühl, die Leute halten mich für die Nanny meines eigenen Kindes? Wieso fühlte ich mich im Schaufenster einer Buchhandlung, in der ich gearbeitet habe, wie Teil einer „Völkerschau“?
Mein Struggle als schwarze Frau in Deutschland gilt nicht nur der gelegentlichen und faktischen Diskriminierung, sondern noch viel mehr der antizipierten Diskriminierung, die mich fast überall hin begleitet.“ sagt Hélène Badjeck über „den Zugang zu meinem Schwarzsein“.
Hélène und ich haben uns im Sommer 2019 beim Geburtsvorbereitungskurs kennengelernt. Wir wohnen 100m voneinander entfernt, unsere Männer haben den gleichen Vornamen und unsere Töchter sind gleich alt. Bei unseren Treffen war unsere Hautfarbe nie ein Thema- natürlich nicht, warum auch.
Als am 25. Mai 2020 George Floyd in den USA im Laufe einer gewaltsamen Festnahme getötet wurde und sich daran heftige Proteste gegen Polizeigewalt und Rassismus anschlossen, habe ich sie doch darauf angesprochen. Jetzt haben wir auch im Podcast darüber geredet, was es für Hélène heißt, eine Woman of Color zu sein, wie Ihre Reise zur eigenen Identität aussah, was sie ihrer Tochter mitgeben möchte und was sie bei ihrer Tätigkeit als Coach anbietet. Vor allem aber haben wir überlegt, was wir alle als Gesellschaft tun können, um endlich individuellen, institutionellen und strukturellen Rassismus zu überwinden. Wer bereit ist, nicht nur über Rassismus (nicht weit weg in den USA oder sonst wo, sondern hier, in Deutschland, vor der eigenen Haustür) zu lernen, sondern auch das eigene Denken und Handeln zu hinterfragen, den lade ich herzlich ein, unser sehr persönliches Gespräch anzuhören.
Chenchao ist mit 13 Jahren von China nach Deutschland gekommen. In unserem Gespräch erzählt er, wie er das für ihn fremde Land anfangs wahrgenommen hat und wie er damals von seinen Mitschülern und Lehrern in Cottbus aufgenommen wurde. Ich frage ihn, ob er Erfahrungen mit Diskriminierung oder Rassismus machen musste. Wir sprechen darüber, warum er nach vielen Jahren im schönen München mitten in der Coronakrise nach Berlin gezogen ist und er verrät, wo es hier das beste chinesische Restaurant gibt.
Außer über Chens persönliche Geschichte reden wir über interkulturelle Kompetenz- ein Thema, über das er auch Seminare gibt. Wir besprechen, mit welcher Grundhaltung man interkulturelle Kommunikation überhaupt erst angehen kann und inwiefern Deutsch/Chinesische-Stereotypen zutreffen. Vor allem aber teilt Chen sein Wissen darüber, was für gesellschaftliche und geschichtliche Hintergründe man unbedingt kennen sollte, um die chinesische Kultur verstehen zu können.
