In this episode I talk to the lovely Jess Parker. Jess Parker (PARKER PUPPETRY) trained at ArtsEd graduating with 1stClass BA (HONS) in Musical Theatre. As a performer, her credits include numerous West End, UK & International Tours–including ‘Kiss Me Kate’, ‘Evita’, ‘Seussical’ and ‘Avenue Q’. Jess is now a creative associate, director and 'puppeteacher' for productions and Parker Puppetry. 

We talk about the Jess' time in the industry, why extra skills benefit you, what you need to do for self-care when working on physically and vocally demanding shows, as well as achieving and moving forward within your performer career.

In this interview I speak to Terry Hyde, Terry is a retired professional dancer himself, and now is a counsellor and psychotherapist; working with performers in the industry. THIS EPISODE MAY INCLUDE DISTRESSING TOPICS FOR SOME PEOPLE. This interview was originally coming out later in the year, however recently it was reported on the news that Ballet West are under investigation for sexual harassment and assault. I would like to personally send my deepest sympathy to anyone, who was directly or indirectly affected by this awful situation. In this episode Terry explains how counselling can help, how it works, and for anyone who has been affected by Ballet West; to receive a free counselling session. These topics are not sugar coated or watered down as I felt these subjects were important to discuss. I am airing this episode early in the hope that it helps performers, that performers can reach out to Terry for help and to talk about these issues to create a change.
