  • Pregnancy During A Pandemic
“I had my daughter when I was 17 and now, I’m pregnant again during a pandemic 15 years later!” Pregnancy during a pandemic is uncharted territory for all of us. With hospitals over capacity and COVID regulations slowing operations, it hasn’t been easy for pregnant women. This week, I am joined by a dear friend, host of two podcasts, and CEO of Idea 2 Launch, Carla Wilmaris. In this episode we chat about what her experience was like being pregnant at the age of 17 versus being pregnant in her 30s. We also talk about how COVID regulations has exacerbated her anxiety and why she felt extremely alone during her pregnancy. If you know anyone who is currently pregnant, please send this episode to them! Also, if you know someone who wants to get pregnant but is worried they cannot because they’ve been on birth control for many years, please send this episode to them! • Fighting the Urge to Self Sabotage
This week we are switching it up! Instead of tackling the intricacies of the female “box”, we are going to talk about why we (consciously or subconsciously) self-sabotage potentially fruitful romantic/interpersonal relationships. If you’ve been listening to one of the three podcasts that I host, then you probably know that I found love during quarantine! What I didn’t expect to find— were deep-rooted insecurities and unconscious self-sabotaging behavior. This week I am joined by @TrashCanTam host of Real-I-Tea Podcast and she walks us through how she was able to identify her self-sabotaging behavior & where it stems from. You can expect to hear: 1. Signs of self-sabotage 2. Identifying worthlessness / colorism 3. How emotional/mental health impacts your sexual health 4. How grief/ loss of a loved one can form defense mechanisms that may show up in our other relationships subconsciously 5. Ways to transform your thinking 6. How finding a community/ solid council alters your perception (Great time to become a Patreon!) —————————————————— More on Self-Sabotage: A. Definition of Self-sabotage: Behaviors or thought patterns that hold you back and prevent you from doing what you want to do. B. Three causes someone may self-sabotage: 1. Their thinking patterns 2. Fear of intimacy 3. Avoidant towards difficult or uncomfortable situations —————————————————— Instagram: Follow us on Instagram @officialboxowner and sign up for our mailing list to stay up to date with subscription box and giveaways at officialboxowner.com Patreon: Get the episodes early and receive bonus content on Patreon! • No Toxins in My Yoni
"I want to use a menstrual cup but I am scared that I will get blood everywhere, ew!" Don't worry, I had that same thought too! Women are now actively demanding more health-conscious products to use during menstruation. By now we've heard about organic tampons & pads, however, a product that is not brought up often and also seems to come with a slight hesitation is a menstrual cup. That's why I had to bring ivory, the owner of the black-owned business @Yonitoxwomen to chat about the proper way to use a menstrual cup, the benefits it has for your body, her journey towards destigmatizing period shame, and so much more!
