When was the last time you were challenged to the point of questioning all your beliefs? I feel like Jon Snow, not knowing anything anymore. It only took one month in Ubud to come to the realisation that I am fortunate to be alive, that the Balinese culture is pure kindness, and that we should all strive for happiness and what brings us joy. Because nothing really matters.

And just in a few days I will be flying out of Australia to a new, unknown, unexplored country: Indonesia. But wait, because that's not the only thing that has happened to me these past few weeks. I've got tattoos, I've been escorted by the police, them wearing bulletproof vests, I had a moment of realisation (even awakening) when I went back to read my old diaries, and I found out that what I wished then, is now my reality. When was the last time you left your comfort zone? How did you feel? What did you learn? 

These past few weeks have been crazy: from a four-day siege where I had to be escorted by the police wearing bulletproof vests (them, not me!), to getting new tattoos, and my biggest announcement: here I am again, leaving my comfort zone after two and a half years of safe, planned life in Australia, to go away for two months. What does it mean to be alone? If you ask me, I would say that I have been feeling lonely most of my life. And traveling, I thought, was the cure. But as it turns out, it was only a symptom of a series of decisions, all focused on avoiding the feeling of loneliness. The school system and our education at home didn't help much either. But hey, there are silver linings here too.
