Hello everyone! I'm Dare Akinsanya, and welcome to this week's soul-nourishing episode. Last week, we explored the undeniable truth that nothing is too hard for God. We discussed that walking in faith doesn't mean passive surrender but active trust.
This week, we'll delve into what Jesus did after demonstrating His total trust in God. Instead of surrendering hopelessly, He took five significant actions found in Matthew 14:19. These actions reveal the transformative power of thanksgiving.
Insight Number 10: The Transformative Power of Thanksgiving
Foundation of Trust: Thanksgiving begins with trust in God, knowing He always has our best interests at heart. When we recognize that God has already provided resources for our turnaround, our gratitude grows even in storms.
Thanksgiving as Worship: It's a form of worship that acknowledges God's goodness and opens the door to His presence (Psalm 100:4).
Thanksgiving Brings Peace: Gratitude shifts our focus to God's provision, bringing peace (Philippians 4:6-7).
Thanksgiving Leads to Multiplication: Thanksgiving precedes miracles and increases, as seen when Jesus fed the five thousand.
Thanksgiving Promotes Health: A grateful heart enhances physical well-being (Proverbs 17:22).
Ingratitude, on the other hand, leads to spiritual dullness, stagnation, and strained relationships with God. Understanding the alternative paths God prevents us from should inspire constant gratitude.
Jesus’ Five Actions in Matthew 14:19:
1. Maintained A Peaceful State of Mind: Maintained calm and order.
2. Accepted the Resource: Valued what was given to Him.
3. Looked to Heaven: Recognized God as the source.
4. Blessed The Resource: Expressed gratitude, and blessed what He had.
5. Launched Out in Faith: Acted in faith. The food multiplied as they were being distributed.
Thanksgiving aligns us with God's will and releases His blessings. Let's cultivate a thankful heart, knowing it draws us closer to Him.
