Welcome to this week's episode of Perspective Shifts: Unveiling Paradigms in Perceptions.

In the last episode, we explored the fifth of the 24 insights from the feeding of the five thousand and four thousand multitudes, delving into why we must not despise the days of small beginnings. This week, we dive into the sixth insight, examining Jesus' countenance and response to the same small resources that the disciples considered worthless.

Our anchor scripture is Matthew 14:18, where Jesus says, “Bring them here to Me.” This insight reveals a powerful truth that "we have all that we need". Whatever we think we need is often hidden in plain sight within or around us. We must recognize it and surrender it to God so He can bless and multiply it.

Join us as we reference the story of Ali Hafed from "Acres of Diamonds" by Pastor Jentezen Franklin, illustrating how God often hides treasures in plain sight. Ali Hafed, in search of diamonds, overlooked the stones on his own land, a profound lesson in recognizing the resources around us.

Key Scriptures:

- Proverbs 25:2: "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings."

- Isaiah 45:3: "I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name."

God doesn’t ask us to search for hidden treasures; He promises to give them to us. These treasures maintain their value because they are revealed when we meet God’s criteria. By seeking Christ first, we gain access to the wisdom and knowledge hidden in Him, allowing us to recognize and utilize the resources God has placed around us.

We also explore the principle of surrender versus diligence, emphasizing that recognizing the tasks God wants us to execute diligently and knowing which ones to surrender to Him is crucial. Victory depends on God's might, not human resources, as shown in the story of Gideon's army and the example of David’s reliance on his army’s size.

Join us as we unravel these deep insights and discover how to align ourselves with God's will, unlocking the pathways to the treasures God has placed within or around us. Recognizing and surrendering our resources to Him is key to divine multiplication and breakthroughs.

I'm Dare Akinsanya, and in our last episode, we delved into the profound insights from the feeding of the 54,000 multitudes, exploring the intersection of faith and hospitality. Today, we continue our journey through Matthew's account with Insight number five: "Life despising Small Beginnings".

In Matthew 14:17, the disciples remark, "We have here only Five Loaves and two fishes." This seemingly casual statement reveals a deeper truth about human perception and divine perspective. The disciples, like many of us, viewed their resources as insignificant—"only". They were operating under the limitations of human sight, forgetting that God's ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9).

To illustrate this, we draw from the prophet Zechariah's message in Zechariah 4:10, where he relays God's encouragement to Zerubabel and the people of Israel during the rebuilding of their temple. They faced discouragement due to the slow progress of their work, feeling overshadowed by the grandeur of Solomon's temple. The message from Zechariah emphasizes three crucial points that remain relevant today:

Firstly, encouragement and hope: God reassured the people that He values their faithfulness in small beginnings. What may seem insignificant to humans is significant to Him.

Secondly, divine perspective: God sees beyond our human limitations. He delights in using small, seemingly inconsequential beginnings to accomplish His purposes, showcasing His power and sovereignty.

Thirdly, assurance of divine support: The message assures us that God is with us in our efforts. Our faithfulness and perseverance in small beginnings align us with His greater plan and timing.

These insights challenge us to rethink our perspectives on small beginnings. They are not to be despised but embraced with faith and perseverance. They serve as seeds from which God can bring forth abundant blessings and fulfill His purposes beyond our expectations.

Reflecting on biblical examples such as David, who was a shepherd boy before becoming king, and Gideon, the least in his family yet chosen by God to deliver Israel, we see how God values faithfulness and uses humble beginnings to demonstrate His power.

As we move forward, let us hold fast to faith in God's ability to multiply our efforts. May we recognize that what is small in our hands today can lead to significant outcomes when entrusted to Him. Let us pray for God's guidance and multiplication in all our endeavors, knowing that He alone deserves the glory.

Main Point: Well-meaning actions can unknowingly hinder blessings or God's purpose.

1. Peter's Misunderstanding (Matthew 16:21-23): Peter's attempt to protect Jesus was contrary to God's plan.

2. Job's Friends (Job 16:2-3): Their misguided counsel added to Job's misery.

3. David and Saul's Armor (1 Samuel 17:38-39): Saul's armor, though intended to protect, was unsuitable for David.

4. Jesus’ Family (Mark 3:21): Their concern for Jesus conflicted with His mission.

5. Paul’s Journey to Jerusalem (Acts 21:12-14): Despite dangers, Paul knew his purpose.

Downside of Misguided Well-Meaning Actions:

- Impact on Trust: Trust is essential in team building and relationships. Misguided actions can break trust, leading to disintegration within teams and communities.

Steps to Resolving Conflicts and Addressing Issues Without Breaking Trust:

1. Direct and Private Communication: Address issues directly and privately (Matthew 18:15).

2. Involve Witnesses: If unresolved, involve one or two witnesses (Matthew 18:16).

3. Escalate to Leadership: If still unresolved, escalate to church leadership (Matthew 18:17).

Biblical Guidance:

- Speak the Truth in Love: Address issues with compassion and a desire for restoration (Ephesians 4:15).

- Restore Gently: Embrace forgiveness and reconciliation (Galatians 6:1). Conclusion:

- Seek God’s Wisdom: Always align advice and interventions with God's will.

- Be Prayerful and Sensitive: Avoid causing unintended hindrances or divisions.
