Rev. Hannah and Rev. Brittany are back again this week for Perspectives Pastors Podcast, continuing the multi-week conversation of Imago Dei – investigating what it means to be made in the image of God and celebrating the diversity of humankind. And this time, they’re discussing a rather divisive topic: political perspectives.
This digital Bible study is inspired by Psalm 9:7-10. Join the discussion to hear these two female pastors’ views on:

Join Rev. Hannah and Rev. Brittany as they continue the conversation of Imago Dei (“in the image of God”) – this time looking at age and using two prophets as examples: Amos and Jeremiah – one of the oldest and youngest prophets highlighted in the Bible.
Through their digital Bible study, the two female pastors show how God uses people at all stages of life to make an impact – even when you don’t feel equipped with enough experience, social status, or believe you’ve aged out of relevance.
Representing different generational age groups, Rev. Hannah and Rev. Brittany demonstrate how we can set aside age differences to come together and find other commonalities.

This week, Rev. Trudy and Rev. Brittany kick off a new series of discussions about “Imago Dei” – the Latin phrase that means in the image of God. Over the next several episodes, they’ll be exploring the common thread that weaves us all together, what it means to be made in God’s own image and celebrating seeing the Divine in everyone we encounter.
They start by looking at racial and cultural diversity – as inspired by Revelation 7:9-10 – the vision of people of all nations and tongues gathering in unity before God.
If you’re familiar with this Bible study podcast, then you won’t be surprised that Rev. Trudy and Rev. Brittany have a somewhat different take on the Book of Revelation than what is often seen in popular culture.
The women also discuss faith and politics, the often-capitalistic view of Heaven, actions we can take today to be better global citizens, and what we can do to help bring about the vision of unity that’s found in Revelation.
You’ll find this and other podcast episodes from First UMC San Diego give you something to talk about. Join Rev. Trudy and Rev. Hannah for this episode of Perspectives Pastors Podcast as they examine baptism and ask: What difference does it make and what is it all for? It’s inspired by looking toward the actions of John the Baptist and Jesus’ public baptism in Luke 3:15-22.
Baptism is a quick ceremony but through the pastors’ discussion, it becomes apparent that there’s a lot to consider! Follow along as they talk about:

In this week’s Perspectives Pastors Podcast, Rev. Trudy and Rev. Hannah wrap up the discussion about the Good News of the Christmas story – suggesting it’s for the “wise and the world” – individuals from outside of the Judeo-Christian tradition but are touched and inspired by the story due to their openness.
It’s a discussion inspired by Matthew 2:1-12 – the story of the three wise men and King Herod, which provides an interesting juxtaposition of how people may react to revelatory news: by investigating and sharing or by denying and thwarting. Through their biblical studies, both female pastors are drawn the various reactions of the good news in this passage. And it makes them wonder which characters they are most like.
