Why are we so sensitive regarding salaries? Yes, not talking about salaries is definitely rooted in white supremacy. Not talking about salaries allows the poor and middle classes to stay within their “box” and continues to prolong the pay gap. Similarly, just as policing is about controlling POC, the pay gap is also about controlling POC. Later in the episode, they’ll discuss how the color of your hair has nothing to do with your level of professionalism, and why the workplace needs to be less stuffy, less white.

Down with the patriarchy! Lyzeth and Martina refer to how the patriarchy and capitalism play a key role in white supremacy, and that we can’t only remove one or the other, but all three must go. Listen to them discuss how W/POC always get the short end of the stick, and always end up being the “bigger person” in workplace white supremacy practices. Non-POC need to spend more time genuinely understanding the role they play in perpetuating white supremacy in the workplace.

Companies will have to release dominion over their staff, or deal with the fall out of not having a company to manage. Listen to Lyzeth and Martina reflect on their lived experience around white supremacy at the workplace. Whether Americans want to recognize it or not, we live in a caste system that extends to the workplace - from the false sense of urgency to grind culture - it is not even meant to benefit POC, or anyone that’s not a white male.

Early policing stems from American slavery (suprise, suprise) as a way to control Black bodies, all the way to the Northern American to control the poor. Officers of the law are traditionally trained as warriors and to kill first, not protect and deescalate a situation. However, where is that warrior mentality when officers confront whites….? Listen to Martina and Lyzeth talk about going the opposite way when seeing a cop.
White children are always given the benefit of the doubt, but where is that benefit of the doubt for our Black and Brown children. No matter how far Black and Brown families get to the proximity of whiteness, we are always reminded that we are POC at the end of the day.
Yes! Accountability for George Floyd happened but a lot more social accountability is still needed for POC. Lyzeth and Martina discuss what it will finally take to dismantle white supremacy, especially as it relates to policing.
Anti-Blackness came to a head in Summer 2020 with the murder of George Floyd, but it began much earlier in March with Breonna Taylor. White supremacy aims to keep all the “others” in “The Box” - us others are only allowed so much space (if any) outside “The Box” of white supremacy because Blackness is deemed less than.
Why is wearing a mask still an issue? White supremacy folks are still mad about masks - yes, they are still mad. Tune in with your popcorn to listen to their perspectives on how the ending of slavery in the US relates to why white supremacy folks do not want to wear the masks.
Over the next few episodes, join Lyzeth and Martina as they share their perspectives on white supremacy and the ways it continues to function in every inch of society. In this first video, they will discussion how their ancestors were forced into colonialism in Central America and slavery in the States, and begin setting the stage to show how white supremacy is impacting COVID-19, religion, Anti-Blackness and much more in videos to come, soon.

Lyzeth and Martina chat about the historical mistrust of vaccines within POC communities. Then they switch it over to discuss how a certain disgusting conservative Texas Senator (and capitalism) left residents to feed for themselves….in a Snowpocalypse
