Based on today’s daf we will question the proper use of embarrassment as a disciplinary measure to be adopted by the community in order to promote future adherence to the law.

Matthew Goldstone is a three year PhD student in Talmud at New York University. He received his Masters degree from JTS and subsequently spent two years studying in Israel before beginning at NYU.
