Welcome to the Three Hundred Fourty Second episode of Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Matthew Goldstone looks at Masechet Pesachim Daf 83.
Today we will look at the concept of objects which render the hands impure and those things which serve as a “base” for forbidden objects. Both of these ideas are intended as extensions of the basic law in order to sharpen the taboos associated with the basic prohibition.
Matthew Goldstone is a three year PhD student in Talmud at New York University. He received his Masters degree from JTS and subsequently spent two years studying in Israel before beginning at NYU.
The opening and closing music for this podcast is Ufros from The Epichorus album One Bead.
