June 03, 2019The Accidental Quantum Physicsist_4In this episode (a rather long one, sorry!) I cover the electrons that I love. The free electrons, a special electron that looks like toddler legs in a nappy, the electrons of life, and the ones in your devices. June 02, 2019The Accidental Quantum Physicsist_3Yes it is true you have been taught the musings of a beer company: Carlsberg. No one has pointed out the folly of the half explanation. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay

June 02, 2019New Scientist May 25_4What strikes me about the Indian Pharma pollution is just how selfish and stupid humanity is. I remember stuff on the Jet and Gulf stream and how it was beautifully explained and summarized. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay
June 02, 2019The Accidental Quantum Physicsist_1This is mine and your story of Quantum Physics. June 02, 2019New Scientist May 25_3_A nice review of Moon trivia, but they always leave out they toy astronaut left on there. The article on Jupiter was really good in detail and setting out comparisons. I would have liked a little more on Juno's polar radiation avoiding orbit, and feel that the discussion of the Oort cloud and Kuper belt was a bit woolly. The article on genetics of parenting is good but leaves out the effect of breast feeding. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay
June 02, 2019New Scientist May 25_2Concealed information test as a proxy for the polygraph test was interesting. The talk-fest on why the future is frightening was vague. The population issue is I think missing the point that we are having less babies. https://ourworldindata.org/peak-child MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay
June 01, 2019Podcraft MicrophoneI went to a Master Class in how podcasting should be done..... and found out that I am off on my own doing crazy things for a good cause... me and my rehab. But even though I am breaking all the rules and voice memoing I still struggle finding the right microphone. May 29, 2019New Scientist May 25_1Morrison Government and old grey people and cultures using more green house gases. A dubious story on carbon recapture by bacteria which failed to explain why you would not simply use plants. The use of tools by chimps is indeed and interesting insight discussion as to why we were so boring for 2 000 000 years in making the same tool over and over.
