Jairus, the Ruler of the local Synagogue, has asked Jesus to come and heal his daughter. The little girl who is about 12 years old is dying. On the way Jesus stops to heal the woman with the issue of blood. Jairus' daughter dies. But Jesus goes anyway because He can do more than we thought possible!

We had such a grand time with our Vacation Bible School Surf Shack this year. So we wanted the rest of the congregation to be blessed by what learned about God. There are five things to know about God: God Creates, God Loves, God Calms, God Helps and God Sends.

This is Mark's account of Jesus calming the storm. The Disciples were awestruck first by the intensity of the storm and then by Jesus Himself, because He of His power to command nature. Early Christians used this incident to express Jesus' real presence during trouble and persecution.

These are Paul's closing instructions to the Thessalonians. He writes them in the form of staccato like imperatives. Imperatives about the positives of the Christian life. If we live them, our lives are filled with grace!

Who is the Holy Spirit? What does He do? We need to know the answers to these questions, because without the Holy Spirit we cannot become Christians. Do you have the Holy Spirit?

Christian Hope is not something which is ephemeral. Our hope is based in the certainty of Jesus' resurrection. Paul was pressed on every side, but never abandoned by God; nor are we.

This is a congregation that had learned to practice Christian love despite the pressure of persecution. Paul writes to encourage and strengthen them.
