The Church Paul planted in Thessalonica was attacked from the outset. But they survived, grew, and inspired others with their faithfulness.

When Paul preached the Gospel in Thessalonica, there was a powerful move of God's Spirit! Many people were conveted to Christianity. But at the same time, there was trouble for the new found Church. This passage tells us that the Church will always be under fire, but God will continue His life changing work through Jesus Christ.

When Jesus was confronted by those who wanted to destroy Him, He often quoted Scripture to overcome their arguments. The Bible is its own defender. The Bible, the entire Bible, teaches the resurrection of the dead.

The Meaning of the Lord's Supper.

Be warned, people of different religious backgrounds will often unite against Christ. Jesus’ enemies were no slackers, they were bright, shrewd and determined. Jesus always manages to best the wisdom of the wisest of the wicked.

God’s special patience with Israel. Israel’s history of disobedience exemplifies the wickedness in human nature. People may have their consciences deeply troubled and still not repent!

History has shown that high Ecclesiastical office can cause gross spiritual blindness. Envy and unbelief are what causes the church to persecute its own. People who are unconverted, will stoop to dishonestly and equivocation rather than face the truth of the Gospel.

The enormous importance of faith and the absolute necessity that Christians keep a forgiving spirit.

On His way to the Temple on Monday morning after Palm Sunday Jesus was hungry. He saw a fig tree and because it did not have fruit He cursed it. Then He proceeds to the Temple and clears it of the money changers and those selling sacrificial animals. Why did He do these things? That's what we explore in this message.
