Gary Boxall is retiring after 35 years.

He formally leaves on 31 March and Snappy Snaps are taking the business over, and after refurbishment will reopen the shop two weeks later; which is good news for the High Street too.

Gary talks to Mike Waddington about his love of photography (from age 7) and how he came to open the shop - first on Chapel Street and then into larger premises on Lavant Street.

He intends to concentrate on genealogy and write about it.

He also says his farewells to Petersfield.

"The chef next door" shows Noni Needs how to cook a delicious, quick and easy steak with peppercorn sauce.

Serve the rump steak in strips with a peppercorn sauce, Norfolk new potatoes with purple sprouting broccoli.

Peter hands out tips on cooking broccoli, resting the steak, making the sauce and the special carving knife.

The South Down Folk SIngers made a CD a few years ago and after so much fun continued and still perform today.

They have a jolly time and members Viv, Stephen and Sue talk about the fun they have but also the real life - fields, work, maids and workhouses - that inspired these songs.

They invite people to listen to them perform and you can join them too.

Around 100 people attended the Town meeting on Tuesday 4 March.

Reports came from the main committees, like the Festival Hall plan, the new Heath toilet and changing block, as well as briefings on devolution and the South Downs National Park plan.

The Mayor, Councillor Lesley Farrow, gave out awards to community champions and spoke about her charities she's supporting as Mayor; the Rosemary Foundation and Petersfield Lions. 

Lots of questions came from attendees about many aspects of the environment here like litter on slip roads. and responsible dog walking as well as queries on the timing of projects.

Cllr Jamie Mathews spoke  about managing 200 acres of public open space in Petersfield. The Heath attracts 350,000 visitors a year and he gave details of the new toilet and changing facilities block, to be built in late spring.

Sine Radio's Julie Butler, was surprised when the Mayor gave her an award at the  Meeting, for her work on Shine Radio, Speedwatch and dementia.

The Petersfield Men’s shed - open to any one interested in woodwork, metal work, and now welding too) and lots of other activities, has launched a hobby night for those wanting to bring jigsaws and games along.

Winton House on Petersfield's High Street  is a historic building with a history!

For International Women's Day (8 March) and with the help of local historian Bill Gosney,  they remembered the services set up for young women 100 years ago, and talk about some of the pioneering women who made this all happen.
