Most animal welfare volunteers work in other professions but take the time out of their hectic schedules because they truly are devoted to helping these animals. The success and the magnitude of this project is largely due to their tireless efforts to make this difference. Petfinder.com is a site where you can actually see cats and dogs that are up for adoption. In 2009 alone, Petfinder.com facilitated more than 2.1 million adoptions in the U.S. and Canada. Petfinder.com is responsible more than 60 percent of adoptions in North America. As of October 2010, there are more than 346,000 adoptable animals listed on Petfinder.com.
